FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Authorities say a Florida woman called 911 three times after McDonald's employees told her they were out of Chicken McNuggets. According to a police report, 27-year-old Fort Pierce resident Latreasa L. Goodman told authorities she paid for a 10-piece last week but was later informed the restaurant had run out. She says employees refused to give her a refund, saying all sales were final. A cashier told police she offered Goodman a larger portion of different food for the same price, but Goodman became irate.

It is not final if they do not deliver the product.

I listened to the 911 call and absolutely cannot believe the dispatcher did not hang up on her. What an outrage. Can you even imagine? These people really are crazy.

I want my McNuggets, waaaaah.

She is a liar and a lunatic. Anyone who calls 911 over McNuggets is not to be believed on anything. So I discount her side of the story entirely.

She over-reacted, but...

Should have stopped right there. Its bad business and she had cause for a civil suit or better a nasty letter to McDonalds. I'm assuming the rest of her family was working at the McDonalds.

She probably had a severe case of the munchies.

Police have a non-emergency number in every city.

She should have called them and reported a theft, because that's indeed what McDonald's did.

"Robbery in progress" - 911 is the right number

Robbery implies force or threatened use of force. This is "theft by deception" or something like that.

Probably. Theft is theft.

If someone walked up and stole your wallet — even if it had $2.50 in it, it would be the same crime.

Theft is theft.

Morally yes, legally no. This is a civil vice criminal issue.

The dispatcher should have given her the non-emergcney number and told her if she calls the 911 for a non-emergency again she will be fined or arrested (whatever they do in that city).

So, who, besides the police do you call for “civil vice criminal” issue (which I’ve never heard of).

I agree this lady is an idiot; should have used the non-emergency number, but it looks to me that they decided to screw her because she was a stupid black lady.

A lawyer. You're telling me that you've never heard of a lawsuit? Seriously? The police don't get involved in contractual agreements (except for prostitution), because it takes a judge to decide the legality of the contract. Buying McNuggets is a contractual agreement.

If her McNuggets had been cold or tasted bad and they wouldn't refund her money, would you still think that it would be a good idea to call the police?

...it looks to me that they decided to screw her because she was a stupid black lady.

Since you are psychic, what color were the McD's employees?

I suppose there is a contract in a 3 card Monte Game, then.

Doesn’t stop the police from shutting them down, and a dollar or two is at issue there, as well.

This is a small crime, and this “lady” is an unsympathetic bitch. But then, MOST victims of crime are little better than the criminals who preyed upon them.
