Seattle Tea Party at Westlake Center
The Scriptorium ^ | 09/27/2009 | Jennifer Rast

Posted on 02/27/2009 6:21:26 PM PST by Cherokee Conservative

These pictures were taken Friday 09/27/2009 at the Seattle Tea Party protest. There were probably 200, or so, protesters present for the lunch time rally, which is a decent sized crowd for the very liberal Seattle area, especially with such short notice. In the future I hope more Seattle area Republicans will brave the mostly liberal mass of humanity, and the hunt for affordable parking to protest the communist takeover of our government. Conservatives have got to get better at organizing, and better at gathering big crowds. The media was present at the protest, but we will have to be bigger, louder, and more organized to get the liberal media to give us more than a brief mention. Protests are fun folks. Get out there and fight for our country and our conservative values!

Did yall report to the media that this was a non partisan event?

I think that is the ticket if yall did.

That way they do not portray the protest group as right wing nut jobs as they so ofter do.

I saw a documentary made by Pelosi daughter about her following the McCain/Palin campaign trail and interviewing people who some were spot on but most were embarrassing knuckle heads the way she set them up.

Showing beer guzzling foul mouthed men who happen to be white all whites oh one black man who shared conservative views but even he was a bit odd.

Not much of the Avg. Jo and alot of crowd shot of blonde/blue eyed peope... Gee I did not know only blonde/blue eyed people were conseervatives.

Where was the non bias reporting of the rest of us who are American black/hispanic/asian ect. conservative Catholics/Christian and yes even fiscally conservative atheists.

And by all means the Log Cabin Conservatives.

Sheesh what a micheal Moorish peice of poop doc daughter Pelosi made.

In one sector Sean Hannity shows up at a McCain/Palin rally and announces to the crowd of hand shakers that she is Daughter of Pelosi and she with her LIKE Hidden Camara Angles (dumb) blurts back Sean Dont tell them who I am you will get my LYNCHED.

Made me want to puke.

/rant

Good for all of you and looking forward to more comments.

I know it’s not where the news are (did they show up at all? I braved local news to watch tonight and didn’t see) but marching on Olympia might be a good idea, too.

Hey your screen name made me think of a Native American Freeper from the old days who lives up your way.

Cant remember his screen name (I am exhausted right now) but he had a great since of humour and was famous for the I got an Ammirrilo up my pant leg.

IIRC he either left or was permantly dismissed.

Anyone remember who I am talking about?

There were a few media types there, but not many. Mostly bloggers. There weren’t even any counter protesters except a few morons who shouted as they walked by.

I think the biggest problem with having protests downtown in Seattle is the parking. We paid 6 bucks for an hour and walked 8 blocks uphill. They need to hold them longer than the lunch hour too. Not everyone takes lunch at the same time, so it should be at least 3 or 4 hours. I don’t know why so many Tea Parties were one hour events. Why not all afternoon?

It’s always nice to see that there are actually other Conservatives in Washington, hu? I wish more would show up. Perhaps a weekend protest would be better.

From a former Seattlelite, it’s good to see right-minded people get together in Seattle.

Go Huskies!

If I still lived in Seattle, I’d have been there, as I always was whenever there was a conservative demonstration.

Good job.

Stay strong.
Be bold, it’s our liberty you’re fighting for.

"Conservatives have got to get better at organizing, and better at gathering big crowds"

How about recognizing that most "conservative" are at work during the M-F workweek and can't get away. As a group, we're not a bunch of lazy lay-abouts, we work. Do these things after work, or on the weekend.

From my perspective the speakers were lively and positive, however the amplifier was wimpy, which made it difficult to understand them at times. Three females and one male spoke. I only recognized the one name, Brian Baird. He’s the guy who tries to challenge McDermott each election. Rally went from about 12:15 to 1:00 PM I filmed it but again, the audio was poor...at least from where I stood off to the side. People were generally respectful yet angry at what government is obviously doing at the moment.

Those of us who work on the East Side of the lake would have liked to join you but it’s very difficult. Would like to see a protest on a weekend somewhere other than Seattle where parking is a problem.

Most of the crazy left have no problem attending a protest during the work week because they are sucking off the government programs and those of us who unfortunately have to support their way of life. Please consider a Saturday protest, we will be there to show our support for the principals that make this country great.

I’m not going to blame Obama, it was evident the direction he was going but nobody cared. Pelosi, Reid & the Democrat majority are going to be the end of us all if we don’t stand up and fight for what is right.

Thanks for posting this. I was there, just out of several of the pictures. Good times and I'm glad I went (I took along two coworkers!)

We came from Renton, we left there at 11:30, got to downtown around 12:00, drove around looking for parking anywhere close to Westlake, ended up picking a lot about four blocks away and paid $10.00 for two hours worth(!), attended the rally and got back to work about 2:00. This was a hardship missing that much work that I have to make up, driving that far and then paying that much $$$ for an hour or so rally.

They need to at least hold these on the weekend to get much higher turnout and make it easier to attend.

Conservatives work for a living!

KING and KOMO cameramen were there and I saw several people that looked like reporters with notepads and cameras. I haven’t watched any news, but if they don’t cover this it is because they choose not to, not because they weren’t there.

re: morons shouting as they walked by. Did you see that very scruffy drug-dealer-looking black guy and his buddy walking by and he just started yelling “Oh haail no, haaail no, you all are crazy” or something like that? The “haaaail no” comments were hilarious!

For those of us who work and would like to be involved, it’s very hard to get into Seattle on a week day.
