Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh announced this week that hes toying with the idea of organizing a "womens summit" to find out why more women dont appreciate his patented point of view.
Limbaugh, who ruffled feathers recently when he said he hopes President Obama fails, was spurred by a Public Policy poll showing that only 37 percent of women compared to 56 percent of men have a favorable opinion of the shock jock. Thus, Limbaughs looking to close the gender gap.
Well have a summit of all the women in this audience or as many of them as we can get into breakout groups and perhaps devote an hour in an upcoming program to calls only from women who genuinely want to talk to me But I want some of these women to start telling me what it is I must do to close the gender gap or, if not, what it is I must do to close the gender gap, what it is Ive done that has caused the gender gap; assuming the gender gap is true and that the poll is true.
I own the men, and what must I do now to own women?
Well, Limbaugh, perhaps you could start wooing more women if you recant your oft-cited quote: "Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society."

Everyday when I come home from lunch, Rush is on our kitchen radio and generally the first words my wife says starts like “Did you hear what Rush said about...”. She’s a bigger fan than I am. I like Rush, but I don’t have the multi-tasking ability to do my work and listen intently to Rush at the same time, so I only listen at lunch.
NOW is in no way a "feminist" movement. It is a liberal movement under the guise of gender.
They supported a serial rapist as president while he was on charges of lying under oath in an workplace sexual harassment lawsuit and using an unpaid intern as a sex plaything (consensual or not, the so called feminist movement railed against bosses who'd hire a pretty/sexy secretary for out of town business trips).
Sounds to me that they DID have a problem with attractive women getting ahead (the sex was consensual).
“Most women are more polite than Mr. Limbaugh and avoid his type in their personal lives. They dont appreciate arrogant behavior, even when they may agree with the arguments he makes.”
Horse hockey. It has been my experience that the bigger the jerk, the more women he attracts. Why? I don’t know, but I do know the old saying “nice guys finish last” is doubly true for men when it comes to women.
Could it be that women are more instinctive than men and can detect a pure, parvaricating, pompous, “pilonidal-patriot,” phony, putz better than men?
He’s a cuddly teddy bear. I think he is adorable.
It’s RADIO, why would anyone give a crap what he looks like?
Beware too that “International Women’s Day” is a Communist holiday.
He strikes me as bossy, arrogant and overbearing. What woman would like a man like that?
And that nice looking lady he’s with, she’s in it for the fame or the money. She’s too good looking and in too good a shape for a man like him.
“Guys like Rush, not exactly Mr. Personality. . .”
Are you kidding? His personality is his best feature! He is one in a million!
;)
You must have ‘em hanging off both arms.
One other thing to consider...
Most women are dependent minded, no offense ladies but we’ve seen the whole stand by your man made famous by the behaviour of Hilary Clinton and the sycophantic NOW with “their” man Bill Clinton.
Rush Limbaugh probably doesn’t have a lot of women listeners because girls like to say “you know” and “it’s like” and “for sure” between every other sentence and, as one final note, Rush doesn’t talk dress sizes.
“Women tend to be more about how they feel about a matter than what they think. “
Agreed. And liberals tend to be the same way. So, by extension, women tend to be liberals.
I’ll take it a step further. The liberalization of America came about as a result of women gaining influence in government and the workplace. Women in authority tend to push liberal agenda.
And to take it even further, liberalization of men is not so far off from femminization of men.
None of us really knows what Rush is like when he isn't on the air. He plays a character when he's on the air. Not to say he doesn't believe in what he says, but his on-air person is just that, an act.
A party planner? Great just another intellectual to keep Rush up to date. The reason why some women aren’t that into him is because he isn’t a) that conservative or b) that interesting. Glad to know that money and power still gets that fat middle aged guys the girl of every young boys dreams. Geez when are you guys going to go for women of character and substance?
Most of it is Rush's arrogance. She really took offense at the way he used soccer mom as a derogatory. C'mon, our kids played soccer. The demeaning comments about feminists rankle. She's no feminazi, but realizes she can vote and get in the workplace because of the good things some feminists have done.
Most of this rolls off my back as I tune out when Rush goes over the top, but then, I'm not a woman.
I agree. Since the beginning of women’s suffrage, how many Dems would have been elected if not for the women’s vote? One? Two?
Generally speaking, women don’t find talkative men appealing. Even less appealing are those who are talkative and always right.
If he’d talk more slowly and sweetly when he took calls, that would help.
A late-night gig and some different topics of conversation would also help.
Or he could start giving away cars and stuff.
Why not just be happy with the audience you have, Rush? Change, and you might lose them!
I beg to differ, being a confident woman who has listened to Limbaugh since 1990. I'd turn the dial in a heartbeat for a "rude and condescending" radio host.
The truth is Rush is confident of his opinions and presents them with confidence.
I've actually muted my radio when Rush lets some liberal blow hard go on a rant fest. Rush didn't turn them off unless they were really boring and couldn't keep up their end of the conversation.
Radio is a business - not mere polite cocktail conversation. Dead air space and boring, uncommunicative hosts don't last for long (unless they are on NPR where they are promoted.)
I'm not sure why you believe that Rush is rude but having listened regularly for going on 19 years, I'd not listen to anyone rude. Rush does cut people off when they used a lie to get on air; launch off into obscenity; or merely resort to name calling rather than argue their point of view.
Rush LOVES a good verbal contest and few liberals can stand up to the rigorous standards that interest an audience.
Having taken speech and participated in many debates, Rush is excellent at his art.
Can he please everyone, no. Obviously, you are one such person.
Tune in your favorite instead of Rush - it's still (at least for now) a FREE country.
Panther piss.
