I just said a prayer. I encourage you to pray to St. Joseph, who always comes through.
There may be surveillance cameras on the bus. Be sure to check to see if than can tell you where your son exited the bus.
And help you confirm he actually got on the bus.

You need to get through to the bus drivers on the route to find out where he got off. If he was not well medicated they will remember. Get photosto the local police. Then go find him.

Yes, that is it. Only he transfered in St. Louis, Denver, Salt Lake City and SFO.
I have to notify all these police stations with info. I am in the process of that now.

Chances are he will will be and is okay. Sometime back I make a trip by bus and at a break stop of about 15 minutes one of the passengers didn’t get back on. He was of Asian decent and spoke little English at best. He was around the bus just prior to leaving from the break stop but wasn’t there when the driver loaded and pulled out. I told him the person wasn’t on the bus and he replied there will be another bus along in a couple of hours.
My point being he may have missed a bus either at a break point or a transfer station. Also the bus may have been delayed along the route so that the tranfers were missed due to time lost.
Keep the faith and don’t get dejected at this point. I know you are worried and anxious but stay calm and keep your wits about you. With God’s grace you’ll and your son will be fine.
I have a complete list of routes. I have to go through the law enforcement. It is going to take me all day. I already notified law enforcement at Josh’s transfer points.
I just realized the schedule I posted is for 2010! I thought I was pulling up the recent one. Hopefully it’s the same one.(?) It might well be, because I doubt if they actually have one yet for 2010. Better check with Greyhound.

In St. Louis you might want to contact New Life Evangelistic Center. It is a large well known homeless shelter in downtown and if he were wondering around he may have been directed there. I think St. Patrick Center is another one near downtown too.
Prayers to you, your son and your family. I am sure his father is going crazy with worry too. I will pray for him too even though he made a terrible mistake.

If that bus schedule is correct, the first place I’d look is Denver. He would have been all the bus all night and have to make a transfer when he was probably very tired. Also, a stranger in a small town like say, Hays, Kansas, would be found very quickly.
But that’s not based on any expertise—just thinking about the problem here. Prayers for your son.
