My son Joshua James Culbertson boarded a Greyhound Bus Schedule Number 1683 in Indianapolis Indiana on February 22, 2009 bound for Eureka California, Humboldt County. He was due to arrive last night at 9:30 pm in Eureka. He never made it.
Joshua is a person with schizophrenia and according to his father in Indiana he was deteriorating mentally. Why in the blazes did he put him on the bus in that condition I will never know.
Joshua may be confused and upset and may lash out to himself or others. He may have gotten off the bus in one of the cities the bus stopped in. He may be confused and scared not knowing where he is.
His description as follows:
White Male Joshua James Culbertson DOB March 22, 1977 Shaved head-when growing it is med brown Brown eyes About 5”9 160 pounds He is unshaven He has a tattoo of a celtic cross on the inside of one arm(don’t remember which one) Has sores on his person due to Mrsa. He is very friendly but may be very upset and would be hard to approach. HE IS NOT CARRYING ANY WEAPONS ON HIM.
He is wearing a black zip up hoodie Blue Jeans Grey/Brown Shoes Black Baseball Cap with Miller High Life on the Front
Please pray for him so that he makes his way home.

God Bless you! Poor Waxel. praying down here in Houston. Freepers were so wonderful 4 years ago when my uncle, who was showing signs of alzheimers, took off for California from Missouri and disappeared. They were doing so much to help. There’s just not another place like this on the net!

You are doing all the right things, and it’s wonderful the support you’re getting from Greyhound. Between them, their tracking mechanisms, security tapes and cooperation of local authorities, I’m sure Joshua will be found soon.
Beyond his medical, psych issues, that is a horribly long trip for anyone. He may just have needed a break from the bus and taken one at a transfer point or stop along the way, deciding to continue on a later bus.
We will hold you and Joshua in prayer.

If you can identify the cities that the Greyhound would have stopped at, that would be a huge help.
I would then assist you to contact all Guardian Angels in those cities with a description and (if possible) a photo. Our Patrols go places where the police often don’t (such as under bridges and in loading docks and dark alleys) but where homeless people often do go. Your son may find himself in such a place, and if he is there, our patrol may see him.
Just another set of eyes out in the night.
If would be even more helpful if the security tapes could narrow down which cities we should be looking at.
Meanwhile, I shall pray for your son’s wellbeing.

Do we have a photo of the lad? I take it the cities in the greyhound schedule at Post #52 are the cities that need to watch out for him — correct?
If I can get a photo that will make life alot easier.
I will begin looking up the contact details for our chapters that are along that route and begin preparing a communique in the next couple hours: it will be Friday over there soon (it’s Saturday early AM here in NZ) which is usually a good Patrol nite.
Naturally, we will only be able to hit certain cities along the route: pretty much wherever we have Volunteers, and even then it will be restricted to their Patrol routes, which are typically hi-crime areas. So at best we are another set of eyes out there looking...
See if we can get that photo, ay. I’ll watch this thread for the next couple hours, then gotta get some sleep.
