Limbaugh Lashes Out at Jindal-Bashers! "Style is not going to take this country back."

LIMBAUGH: [T]he people on our side are really making a mistake if they go after Bobby Jindal on the basis of style. Because if you think — people on our side I’m talking to you — those of you who think Jindal was horrible, you think — in fact, I don’t ever want to hear from you ever again. … I’ve spoken to him numerous times, he’s brilliant. He’s the real deal. Some of us in flyover country are getting sick of the East Coast elites bashing our conservative leaders.
This morning the local talk radio hosts were even talking about this. Jindal may not have rays of sunshine shooting from his a-- but the content of his speech was exceptional... And, he didn't lie.
Some of us were very impressed with Jindal and were upset to see other conservatives pile on the popular governor.

That was my reaction, although I only was able to see part of his presentation. Perhaps, as a radio commentator remarked today, he was "overproduced" by his media aides. This morning, when he appeared on TV for an interview, he came across better, probably because he was "being himself.".
How is this a disaster? This was one appearence. The attention span of the people he was trying to reach (not the chorus as such) are as short as a gnat.
People live and learn. I've seen Jindal several times and he has always been a clear, concise kind of guy. Not a lot of "uh's" and um's". For some conservatives this was a test for their hopes and dreams. Need for improvement when jumping from one level to another is nothing new so let's just presume that this is a lesson learned.
Jindal has plenty of time to hone his appearence but he needs to simply reduce his audience size in his mind as being a bayou town and he will come across as intelligent, informed and genuine. We've got 2010 before we even shoot for 2012 so let's keep our gunpowder dry.
Didn’t watch but did listen to Rush....so what if he didn’t hit a home run...How many times did Babe Ruth strike out. Still didn’t make him a bad baseball hitter..
Good for Rush, it was nasty last night, it was dejavu Palin attacks and it made me sick. Especially from the group on Fox
I’m confused about the January entry date. And I almost double Jindal’s age. And I am certainly in the majority, among conservatives, criticizing him.
Once again, the media is applying the Dick Button School of Critcism on something that has here to fore used the Paula Abdul School. Making something out of nothing.
Who remembers a memorable rebuttal?

No Rush, but when "Substance" is backed by "Style," the Presentation is usually far more Inspirational.
Style and presentation count, maybe these days more than ever. Jindal needs to improve. I think he will.

As I think about it, I guess I get it. I had been a lurker here for a couple years as I am not a “poster” on the Internet. I really thought this was kind of a conservative give and take place. I apologize for being wrong but I can see I don’t belong as I like the back and forth discussion of conservative issues as “what those are” will vary from person to person. I also thought I was on solid ground about Jindal when there is no conservative out there that thought he did well. It went from “not very good” to “insane disaster” . . . and that was just the Conservatives.
Anyway . . . moving on. I leave your legal questions to the other conservative lawyers here. Good luck and take care all. Was fun while it lasted.
As far as anybody here knows you're just a Democrat, and we do have such people come through here for discussion, but more frequently for punishment ~ lord do those ol'boys like their punishment ~ and to think they used to blame that on public boarding schools in England.
I have very little reason to believe you are a Conservative. Besides, if you're double Bobby's age, you're too old to be anything but a RINO ~ we are all young, buff, well-oiled, and well-armed.
Give me a break ... Rush makes us look like a bunch of doped up, freaked out, extremist weirdos to the rest of the country.
We are not. We need to get back on message/principle and cut ourselves loose from those who only use us to perpetuate their own agendas (aka Rush and others like him).
Not what I am saying. What I am saying is don’t feed your own to the enemy. They will use every single negative word said by one Republican about another against them at some point in time. They thrive on this kind of infighting. I would venture to say they are instigating some of what is going on right now.
It is good to see Rush once again stress the importance of substance over style and come to the defense of Jindal. After all, he was the one who, years ago, coined the phrase “symbolism over substance” to describe liberals...
However, it is curious that Rush couldn’t seem to find it within himself during the last election cycle to afford the same consideration and make similarly spirited efforts on behalf of some other “real deal” conservatives, e.g. Duncan Hunter, who were equally as strong and knowledgeable as Jindal on conservative and Constitutional principles and positions.
