For those of you who have children, you know the first thing that happens when you have kids is that everyone in your family tells you how to be a good parent. Now Its one thing to get that from your family, how would you like the United Nations tell you what to do with your children. Yes that UN, the America sucks, Zionism is Racism, give Sadaam Hussein money under they table United Nations.

If Senator Barbara Boxer gets her way, the UN will not only be able to get into our homes to tell us what to do with our kids but they will be able to enforce their decisions. The treaty, creates "the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion" and outlaws the "arbitrary or unlawful interference with his or her privacy," intrudes on the family and strips parents of the power to raise their children without government interference. Forget this “UN reform” nonsense. You can’t reform a rattlesnake. The US should pull completely out of the UN and kick the UN out of America!

Like in the UK?

Parents should NOT tell their children what is ‘right or wrong’ about having sex, say ministers

Just smile and give your 13yr old a pack of condoms.

that’s one of the reasons why I ended my membership to the so-called conservative organization: the heritage society.

they too, want to “reform” the UN and not get us out.

while hannity and rush promote heritage on their shows.

I’m as anti-UN and pro-parental rights as they come, but before we rail against this, we should be able to articulate a rational proposal for how to deal with the fact that there are huge numbers of parents in the Middle East who are sending their kids off to jihadist indoctrination centers masquerading as “schools”, where the kids are taught to memorize the Koran from beginning to end, and to aspire to blow themselves up and take as many “infidels” with them as possible; and forcibly marrying off their minor daughters to settle debts or forge social alliances that are profitable for the fathers. I’m all for giving kids the right to say “NO!” to this crap, the parents’ religious freedom be damned.

Yes, but if you look farther down the article you encounter the explanation concerning “RUD’s” (Reservations, Understandings and Declarations). Countries can opt out of parts of this with which they do not agree, and it would appear that the Muslim countries have opted out of the parts they consider to be against Sharia law.

I don’t think this treaty will accomplish what you would like it to.

Now, Now, Now. Sen. Boxer knows a lot more about everything than we unwashed ignorant morons. We should just do as she and “the Annointed One” says.

It’s well past time to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US...

No, I don’t think it will either (in fact, I can’t think of any UN scheme that has ever accomplished anything I thought was worthwhile). But as long as there are opt-out provisions big enough to drive Sharia law through, it’s hard to see how this would be the giant disaster for sane parents that some people are suggesting. It looks like the bottom line will still be the law of one’s own country, and that’s where our concerns and battles need to be primarily focused.

So, will the UN teach my kids how to score cheap third world hookers, or how to transport drugs and launder money?

I lived in the UK from 1988-96. Loved the Thatcher years but after she was gone, it all unraveled. They did away with punishment to ‘children’.

I lived in a nice town, but had many ‘minors’ from a ‘not so nice’ town come to drink in our pubs. My car was stolen more than 10 times. I kid you not. I resigned to keeping my car door unlocked so I did not have to keep replacing a broken window. I finally stopped replacing the steering column housing and started my own car with a screwdriver. They took my car so they did not have to take the bus. Honestly. We found it in the same housing estate every time. It got to the point where we stopped calling the police at all and just went to the housing estate to get my own car.

The police were useless. No insult to them, they were just doing their job.

On one occasion, we caught the ‘little darlings’ red handed. I called the police as soon as they arrived and the cops showed up just as they were leaving in my car. The police had to not only let them go from being charged, but also had to drive them home. I was not allowed to charge them civilly, I was not even allowed to know their name... or the name of their parents (try to sue them for damages). They just walked scott free.

I got another part time job to pay for a huge brick wall and solid walled fence around my property. Nice, huh?

And do you really think that the UN will enforce anything against the Muslim countries?

To: GeronL

Correct.

They were ‘minors’ so could not be charged and I was not allowed to know their names or the names/addresses of their parents.

there was NOTHING that I, or the police, could do.

‘coming to America?’... I don’t know whether you mean me or the crime. haha. If it is the former, I got back years ago. If you mean the latter, I don’t see it far off, the ACLU will see to it, I’m sure.

I think the gov will do whatever they deem appropriate in order to further their agenda of breaking down the family unit and increase dependence on the state.

sad.
