Hear Britney Spears lipsyning with music track removed. Cover your ears. Hilarious.

[video -- get ready to cover your ears]

Let’s get right to the point. Because nothing we could write could possibly be funnier than the sound of Britney Spears singing without a music track.

In fact, there are lots of things we’d rather hear before we have to listen to Britney sing again.

For example, the hideous screeching of a she devil giving birth. The mournful wailing of a coyote whose leg is caught in trap. The sound of lunatic eating his own tongue.

But we’re feeling charitable today, so let’s just say, “Ladies and gentlemen, here’s Britney Spears.”

Not that I’m a Britney fan, but this could also be fake. There were several videos posted on YouTube of famous guitarists messing up their songs — badly — that were really good fakes. Hilarious, too.

With that said, however, I’m sure Britney isn’t a noteworthy singer — pun intended. The magic of Pitch Correction Software can work wonders these days.

I’ve done some work in a recording studio and you’re right. Many of today’s artists can’t sing unless they’ve got a tracking vocal in the headsets and even then most are helped by pitch correction software in mixing.

Reminds me back when Howard Stern played the audio of Linda McCartney’s vocals isolated back on a Wings tour.

Actually, the sad thing is that Brittney Spears used to be a very good singer, and an uncanny mimic of other singers’ voices, but she always sings like a constipated smoker on her albums. What you’re hearing is just someone who (thinks she) knows no-one will hear her, and is really running herself ragged with dance numbers.

No-one listens to her anyway; she’s mostly soft-core porn for people who won’t watch porn, and an education in how to be a slut for kids with bad parents. Says one comic: “I ran into Brittney Spears yesterday. Yeah, for real. I almost didn’t recognize her without the word ‘MUTE’ down here.”

Lol, I am just laughing from listening to all this. I was wondering if today’s singers had their voice doctored when you compare them to singers from long ago.

I always wondering how someone could be dancing around a stage

Rod Stewart could do it in a concert in the 80s (putting him at least in his late 30s) and he still sounded good. It must be good shape. Or maybe the drugs.

I'm curious about this 'lipsyning'. Is she syning with her lips? Are there pictures?

Very few “artists” these days can actually sing. Producers have so perfected the art of the studio, especially with modern computer equipment, that I could strangle a cat in the studio and it would come out sounding good.

Auto Tune + Pro Tools = “Talent”

Auto Tune + Pro Tools + Boobs = “Star”

There is a lot of truth to that. I do some after-hours songwriting and demo recording and I am embarrassed sometimes how much I have to use Auto Tune. Although it has taught me a little about holding pitch which has helped in live work.

Plus, Britney doesn’t have the benefit of having a monitor or an earpiece to hear herself if she’s using an audio track and that’s another drawback. My voice sounds totally different when I can hear myself as compared to when I’m singing along to music that’s louder than I am.

I’ll cut her some slack on this one...

Makes you really appreciate tho old "song and dance" men, doesn't it?

Sammy Davis, Jr., Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire (yes, he sang, too).
