He said yesterday "I just want to make sure that we're having an honest debate and presenting to the American people a fulsome accounting of what is going on in this program."
Dictionary.com defines "fulsome" as follows:
adjective 1. offensive to good taste, esp. as being excessive; overdone or gross: fulsome praise that embarrassed her deeply; fulsome décor. 2. disgusting; sickening; repulsive: a table heaped with fulsome mounds of greasy foods. 3. excessively or insincerely lavish: fulsome admiration. 4. encompassing all aspects; comprehensive: a fulsome survey of the political situation in Central America. 5. abundant or copious.
Hmm, maybe "fulsome" is the right word, although Obama would not understand why.
Oh, he understood. He didn’t think anyone would catch it.
He probably has some friends in Fulsome Prison.
President Bush is no longer in office. We are tired of attacking presidents for their verbal miscues. Time to move on.
Both words have negative meanings, yet sound innocent.
Perhaps it was a Freudian slip, as “excessively or insincerely lavish: fulsome admiration” is the best definition of Obama since becoming the Dem nominee.
“He misused the word “enormity” as well.”
Alot of people misuse that word. They want to come off sounding intelligent but look foolish (to those familiar with the true meaning).
He used it right, although there would be better words considering the wide range of meanings of the word "fulsome".
So is Obama ignorant or honest?
Nothing to worry about, this is an example of his strong meretricious ways.
I note Bambi never says “taxpayers money.” Its always “hard earned taxpayers money.”
It was one of many tools the left used to trash a republican president. Why abandon a tool that has been shown to work?
He’s so clean and articulate, isn’t he? Thank Joe Biden for pointing this out about B.O.
Yeah, I like using that word!
The Clintonita Globe still can’t get over attacking former President Bush. The cover this week has George W Bush with a pained look on his face and a headline that says “after 3 weeks” he’s contemplating suicide.
I’ve heard the word used to describe well endowed women, but not the kind you take home to Mother.
Mr Malaprop strikes again. I love it, though, because without intending it, he actually used a very appropriate word.
Well, the more details I learn about it the more fulsome it becomes.
I actually do NOT think he understood. I have not been impressed with Harvard backgrounds for several years now. I have also not been impressed with the so-called speaking abilities of Mr.Obama.
Obviously an educated, intelligent, and highly superior person. He is the arbitrator of what is right and proper
