“Remember last years NICS Improvement Act otherwise known as the Veterans Disarmament Act? This law codified ATFs attempts to make you a prohibited person on the basis of a government psychiatrists finding that you are a danger - without a finding by any court. Well, roughly 150,000 battle-scarred veterans have already been unfairly stripped of their gun rights by the government.”

I suppose they will declare anyone who is a Republican is mentally ill, and remover our right to bear arms. We already know that “Liberalism is a mental disorder”.

Growing up, I was worried I'd have to draw them on the Russians.
In my twenties, I was worried I'd have to draw them on the Chinese.
Now, I'm worried I'd have to draw them on Americans.

First, H.R. 45 was filed in the House of Representatives by Rep Rush, Bobby L.[IL] on January 6, 2009. This bill will impose severe restrictions for licensing on gun ownership. This anti gun bill requires that all new guns be licensed. The bill goes retroactive after two years. What this means is that two years after the passage of this bill, all firearms in your possession must be registered. This will not just apply to new gun purchases I for one, "if" I had any guns or ammo, would not comply. Furthermore, any self respecting 2A establishment should not comply with any government requests/orders for forms 4473. If the government wants that record they need to have a valid reason such as having an actual serial number of a gun used in a crime. They may pass the law, they will play hell getting it enforced.

Pretty sad when we have to think about hiding something that is guaranteed in the constitution. Kind of like hiding a newspaper so the thought police don’t find it.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague. ~~Marcus Tullius Cicero

What this means is that two years after the passage of this bill, all firearms in your possession must be registered. This will not just apply to new gun purchases. There is much more to this than "just" gun control as you perceptively suggest. In order to control their one party dictatorship, the Progressives must criminalize the opposition. They also need to keep extensive records on everyone, friend and foe. Finally, they need concrete and clear rewards to offer their friends.
Gun registration demands will primarily be enforced on the socialists' enemies. Medical care will be withheld from the elderly and chronically ill to secure additional funding to meet the demands of the "poor" (politically aligned Progressives and compliant interest groups -- Environmentalist, Democratic Party aligned ethnic minorities, students, etc.)

I'm not hiding anything! They may get my guns but it will cost them dearly!
They want you to hide stuff, they want you to shun other gun owners, but if we actually stand fast, and stick together, they will not prevail.

As I see it, the one way out of the dilemma which will make everything signed by the current President null and void is for CongressCritters to demand his long form birth certificate, his college transcripts and his thesis.
Congress has standing and if EVERY Republican would, as one solid unit, demand these items . . . chaos would reign for about sixty seconds, then sixty seconds of anarchy, then wed be back at being a Representative Democracy.
When this sham and shameful period is over, the Constitution needs to be read, carefully, and adhered to by Congress. They are over stepping their boundaries and have been ever since . . . oh, at least Lincoln, if not before.
The Second Amendment is in the Bill of RIGHTS for a reason. The current President is one of those reasons.

“Now, I'm worried I'd have to draw them on Americans.”
I was having the same thoughts last night. This is my answer: People have been fighting each other since Cain and Able, family against family, tribe against tribe, my G_d against yours, etc, etc.
This is NOT the America I grew up in and swore to defend as a Marine. We are not a melting pot anymore, IMHO, what with all the hyphenated Americans running around.
