Patient treatment could be restricted and health-care rationed under a provision in the economic-stimulus legislation, critics say.
A $3 billion Health Information Technology system included in the bill calls for all Americans' medical records to be computerized by 2014.
President Obama says the plan will help bolster medical care, reduce errors and cut costs.
But critics see it as a power grab advancing socialized medicine by vesting more power over health care in the federal government.
The National Coordinator of Health Information Technology will oversee implementation.
The health-care package approved by Congress states HIT will provide "appropriate information to help guide medical decisions."
Former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey blew the whistle on the measure in an analysis for Bloomberg News, arguing the goal of the new program is "to reduce costs and 'guide' your doctor's decisions."
"Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important," she said, "but enforcing uniformity goes too far."
McCaughey's withering critique was credited with helping scuttle Bill and Hillary Clinton's health-care plan in the 1990s.
The American Medical Association has endorsed Obama's plan, saying the measure prohibits the federal government from establishing national medical guidelines for doctors.

Where are the civil liberties groups? and where are the “abortion rights activists?” If, as they claim, abortion is a “medical procedure,” then the government will have records of all of them.
I bet abortion gets exempted, somehow. So we can save Grandma’s life if somewhow we label the medical treatment she needs as an abortion of some kind.
It sounds insane, but that’s where we appear to be headed.

The spending on this package has Americas attention, but there's stealth Universal Health Care legislation buried deep inside this bill. THAT'S what the democrats are after. The rest is a Trojan horse!
The democrats are sneaking it through while everyone else is busy talking about water parks and green golf carts.
Don’t think for a minute that this health care rationing applies only to senior citizens. It applies to everyone. For example: A woman who gets a certain kind of breast cancer that is chemo resistant, has a 30% survival rate to live more than five years. The cost vs life expectancy rate would deny that woman treatment because the chances of living more than five years are just not worth the money. The same thing could be said about your child with a malignant brain tumor, or certain types of leukemia, muliple myeloma, and pancreatic cancer, both would not be treated, and research would be halted.

This is what the Terri Shaivo case was all about, to desensitize us to the mass murder of the helpless among us. How many Congressmen and Senators will have aid withheld?
It'll be paid for in full. In a socialist society, the government needs just enough feeders to remain in power and just enough employed people to use as slaves.
Not only is abortion an issue, but elimination of the elderly is hinted at (in a socialist society, they're considered useless eaters). The Universal Health Care package removes certain medications the elderly are currently dependent on.
D. James Kennedy said the following in his sermon on Proverbs 8:36 (”and all who hate Me love death”):

His point was that the “logic” of abortion entails the “logic” of euthanasia. Abortion opponents have been saying that for years. And now it’s here.
Secular humanists love death. All their solutions ultimately seek someone else’s death as a solution to a problem.

My mother - whom I would throw myself under a bus to save without thinking and without regret - is undergoing treatment for stage II breast cancer.
And she is a little over 70 years old - older than the treatment protocols and the “survival tables even calculate. Her cancer was hormone-therapy resistant.
We are looking at a genocide - if not a Holocaust - in the name of medicine.
Yes. Our current government requires a certain number of voluntary slaves. They need federal taxes, state taxes, property taxes, school taxes, gas taxes, consumer taxes, sin taxes, and government fees in order to stay in power. The more we earn and spend, the bigger, stronger, and more powerful the fascist government monster becomes.
In order to kill this beast, America has to stop working so much, trying to earn more, and spending their money on junk they don't need anyway.
If taxpayers stopped paying taxes as much as possible and learned to live on oly what they need, things could change. Not only would the beast starve to death, but their own personal bank accounts would runneth over.
Only a peaceful tax payer revolt can free the slaves, but most people aren't willing to stop wanting long enough to do it.
They also included 800 million dollars to combat obesity and smoking. I’m not sure what that means, but you can be sure that obesity and smoking will disqualify anyone for any by-pass surgery. Smoker? Over weight? Drop dead.
The beast will never starve to death as long as it can coerce taxpayers with threat of asset confiscation, imprisonment or death for not paying more and more of their wealth in tribute - er, I mean - taxes.
Dr. Kennedy was a powerful preacher and great man. I greatly enjoyed listening to his booming voice and the powerful, logical, prescient sermons that I heard on his radio show. I was saddened by his passing in Sept 2007.
That he was. His sermons still resound on my local radio, and I hope you can still find them as well.
I wish he were here to share his voice today.
