What exactly is in the stimulus package that is intended to end the life of senior citizens? I’m not doubting there’s something that raises concern, but please specify the text so we know what you are ranting about.

Thanks.

Bloomberg news has an article on this,,starts with monitoring health info and determining cost effective treatments as allowable. Discouraging experimentaltreatments. Would affect cancer treatment which is now sort of a stable disease for some with longer survival. That might be disallowed. This has great ramifications for older people as well as anyone with chronic disease.

“What exactly is in the stimulus package that is intended to end the life of senior citizens?”

Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user is not defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time.”

Daschle says health care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors, he says, should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. And you thought the government wouldn’t ration your health care.

If you go to Limbaugh's site and click the part about socialized health care, I believe he states the page numbers there. The translation is basically that your health care will be tracked through a federal computer system. If you get sick, your doctor will have to discuss your diagnosis with the Feds to determine which "level" of treatment you will receive. This will be weighted by your past medical problems and your age. Basically, what this means is they will determine how aggressive your treatment should be based on estimated success of treatment, cost to the government, and how many tax-paying years you have left in you. The money quote from Daschle is (paraphrased), "Seniors are just going to have to accept that some problems come with age instead of trying to treat every little problem."

Bottom line is that on this proposed program, Ted Kennedy right now would be wheeled out in his chair and placed next to the dumpster for the next trash pickup.

Was I ranting? Probably. I know my hair is on fire...

Ready to go, because Tiny Tom’s policies say you are? He’s gone, but his policies aren’t...

You need a lifesaving treatment within a month to save your life?

Well, according to our actuarial tables, you’re only going to live another 2 years anyway, so that treatment would not be “cost effective”,

so, we can get you in, say, Jan 2010. How’s that work for you?
