'night, FReepers. I'm going to bed.
More like the civvie barber at the MCRD..
THEN the drill instructor (kudo’s to you for spelling it out, “D.I.” is grounds for the grinder) can take hold to break down in phase one ;-)
I bet he voted McCain...lol!
My brothers are in the army - one a chopper pilot the other a weapons officer - forget the name they give their basic instructors ...
ps - there was a movie called “The DI” - made to watch it. Jack Webb and Rip Torn, basic training at Parris Island, SC ...
The DI is a great film - one of my faves.
BTW, another one you might like -”Ears Open, Eyeballs Clicked.” It’s a documentary about Marine boot camp (I think San Diego, not sure).
Here’s the trailer (some profanity):

And here’s the Senior Drill Instructor (at least, I think he’s the Senior) chewing out a recruit who failed to complete an obstacle course (LOTS of profanity)

Bad Friggin Hair blog is a Freeper I think.
And sometimes the hair is humerous and sometimes I need a little humor in my day.
Profanity doesn’t bother me, I grew up in a family of five men. Anyway not too much. I feel there’s a time and place for it ... you should hear me when I blow a landing .... plus it’s in movies ....
Oh sure, no prob. Just wanted to give you a heads up about the cursin’ in case you were at work.
(shrug!) Back in the days, we used to grow our hair long and greasy to shock the adults. Then we cut it into a mullet, to shock the adults. Then, neatly coiffed and parted in the middle, to shock the adults. Then messy and spiked, to shock the adults. Then big and tidy and unusually coiffed, to shock the adults. Then we all grew up...
Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose...
Gunny Sgt Ybarra down at San Diego remodeled my #2 son's idea of a "hait cut." He hasn't had a hair grow out of his scalp since he got out of the Corps. Self administered hair cuts tend to be cheap too :o)
Yep, that's Diego, you can see part of the collonade in the background near the beginning.
