Like I said, he is going to get a lot of people killed. What he has done to our national security apparatus is bad enough. Now this.

Second Week, Same as the First! This guy is going for Bush's popularity ratings by the end of his first month.

Next week is going to be a one hell of a carnival ride as folks work out the impact of this baby. Obama has completely misjudged American sentiment and he is going to convert fear of financial collapse to fear of his administration betraying them to death. This could get ugly. Folks don't feel safe in their jobs and nothing the administration is doing is helping and much just adds to the carnage. But, closing Gitmo, Letting KSM potentially free to roam the planet again as his trial has been postponed and most likely canceled. And now cutting defense, it is screaming hit me and you know that they will. Especially with 50 AQ fighters dying from a botched Bio-Weapon, God help us all.

So much for “We support the troops”.

Unfortunately, I fear that Congress will play along with this proposal and thus fail in its duties under Article I, Section 8.

’08 hopefuls would grow the military
By Roxana Tiron

The Bush administration earlier this year announced plans to augment the size of the Army by 65,000 soldiers and the Marine Corps by 27,000.

Democratic frontrunners Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) are among those who support an increase in the size of ground forces.

Obama said he backs current plans to increase the Army and Marine Corps by 92,000 troops. Under his defense plan, more resources would be committed to counter-insurgency and intelligence expertise as well as language and cultural skills.

"He'll end both wars even if he kills our troops."

OK before we go off on a tagent I caution you all to at least learn how our government Works.

Obama isn't cutting anything.

Congress is!

Obama can ASK but it takes Congress to make a budget or deal with spending money.

WIth that said, yeah he most likely will get what he wants on lots of things but President's can't do all that much without Congress.

Time to look for a good impeachment process. He took an oath to defend the people of the USA and if he is going back on that oath, then he needs to be reminded in a VERY BIG WAY!

This cut is for R&D budgets, and has nothing to do with the proposed cuts in missile defense or other programs seen as too modern by the Obama administration. Also, Congress, led by Barney Frank, wants to have an additional cut of at least 25% from the Military’s general budget
