"We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced"
Its not that I take my politics too seriously, I take life and the future of America totally serious, and "The Boss" bossed around too many voters to Gobama. No entertainer worked harder to elect a man, though I do like some of his personality, thoroughly unqualified to take on the job of Commander In-Chief and sundry other duties which are way above his pay grade. I actually blame the electorate who voted for the Democrats in Congress and President, more than the officials themselves.
Rose of Quinn and Rose fame (their Stream and XM radio broadcasts are conservative, addictive, and well worth a listen) claims that she will not do business with anyone who voted for Obama. Same here.
At one time, I could separate the politics of Sean Penn, George Clooney, John Cougar Mellencamp, Jessica Alba et al., from their unique talents and abilities, but now, looking at what is at stake, I am boycotting these people's
entertainment, and avoiding them like the Olbermann Plague which has epidemically infected the brains of so many victims.
Also on the hall of shame list are Garth Brooks, Beyonce, Bono, Sheryl Crow, Mary J Blige, Usher, Herbie Hancock, Shakira, James Taylor, and Stevie Wonder- who perfomed at the infamous Obama-Palooza.May they be Dixi-Chicked for life. I may even jump off an elevator if I hear their music as I enter. Notice to Wallmart: Don't be playing their muzak in the background, as I will leave and upgrade my shopping to Target.
I have not watched Rachel Madoff (even if she wore something frilly), Katie Couric, Bill Maher, Mike Wallace, Bryan Williams, Keith Olbermann, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSLSD (thanks, Mark Levin), or any of the other L-O-S-E-R news programs for more than five minutes since they started their Obama love affair.
As a disabled Vietnam veteran, I have been especially aggravated by Springsteen's singing overtime to defeat the United State's effort in Iraq.
I now sing a little ditty dedicated to Bruce which is based on his song Born To Run.
Baby, We Were Born To Cut And Run - Bruce Sprungspleen
I'm glad I'm not sweatin' and bleedin' in the streets of Baghdad - I am too clean a machine.
I evaded Vietnam like my friend Bill Clinton - I had to sing and make the girls scream.
No jeeps to drive, no tanks to ride in a hostile warring place.
I likes my cozy Asbury Park - let others take my place.
Its so much safer on E - Street and Greenwich has the poets.
I could imitate Bobby Dylan like Melencamp but many folks just didn't know it.
The way to protect America is with the guitar and not the gun,
'Cause, tramps like us, baby we were born to cut and run.
[The words don't exactly fit the music, but I'm singing it anyway]
I have always despised Springsteen’s “music”.
It is pretentious, overblown, maudlin.
And Brucey’s voice is HIDEOUS.
Everytime I hear him, my brain hurts, which is why I call him, “Bruce Brainstrain”.
Like your style Joe, agree with your opine.
I am recording the game.
I am hitting “pause” during halftime show!
The “boss” is a douchebag!!
I always say he sounds like he needs an Ex-lax.
And he usually looks like he needs a shower.
A friend of mine met him once while he was in town. He said he definately smelled like he needed a shower.
I think I’ll clean my toilet instead of watching Bruce.
I totally agree with you about his voice and songs. I don’t understand why he’s considered so great. My husband and I saw him a couple of months ago in NYC for the Bob Woodruff Family Foundation Stand Up for Heroes event. I couldn’t even understand what he was trying to sing and we were sitting up front! It sounded like a bunch of mumbling to me.
Springsteen has always stunk. I won’t be watching either.
Use your DVR’s time slip feature and watch 30 min of the 1st half again instead of Broooce and the interminable plugs - then watch the 2nd half live!
When I was younger I liked his music. Some songs were pretty good. I think the guy’s a full blown idiot, though.
I love my DVR! By half time I will have paused for potty breaks and snacks and replayed enough that I can probably fast forward through Malibu Brucey.
Better yet if you fancy a good chuckle tune into "Wipeout" on one of the other Networks at halftime, its one reality show that always gives me a giggle.
and his crap music has always been embraced by the media who thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread!!!
my introduction to media bias was as a 13 year old watching the media fawn over bruce sh!tstain in the late 70’s while they trashed Led Zeppelin- the greatest band of all time....
Oh yeah, i’ll be watching Wipeout and the revenge of the “big balls”!
He always looks like he combed his hair with his pillow.
It’s the Bissell Kitty Halftime Show for me. Over on Animal Planet during the Puppy Bowl.
> my introduction to media bias was as a 13 year old
> watching the media fawn over bruce
I remember seeing his ugly puss on the cover of Time.
This was when the Mahometan savages were in the process of ethnically cleansing the Lebanon of any and all non-Moslems.
> Socialist) Bruce Springsteen
He is only a socialist with *YOUR* money.
His wealth is his to have, to hold, and to keep. You’re just a paeon, not worthy of acreting wealth. Only your overlords in the entertainment and political classes are permitted to live large. You are required “share” what you have with those who have less than you.
