You seem mighty certain about some things.
I too have the Shepherd scope atop a customer .06.
And yes, I can hit a water mellon at 500yds EVERY TIME with either a tree branch as brace or the attached bipod. The only time I wouldn't take the shot is in a heavy rain or swirling winds. Steady wind is just fine.
I also have a Browning Abolt in .308 that'll shoot just as well. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find a modern rifle that won't make that shot reliably.
And, most anyone could make the shot reliably with practice. It's the shots beyond 500yds that require superior expertise.
Gee, who puts a scope on a battle rifle? I'd never put one on my Bushmaster.

At least in your eyes, which I'd never hold against you. Freepers united against liberals is my attitude. I have an EOTECH on my RRA shorty CAR. I love it but there's no magnification and no scope field of view reduction. The batteries last something like 2000 hours and if they die I still have the iron sights.

Note to the Dems: there are more than just bunch of bitter clinging white guys at the range.Yep! My wife and two of my grand daughters have gone with me. They aren't bitter, and the girls only 'cling' when they want to talk me out of more ammo... (8^D)

....if you find their resonance." That outlandish "theory" has about the same validity as man-made global warming and other religions based upon junk science. It is a shame that otherwise reasonable people accept such nonsense.
Maybe and maybe not. My old Mini-14 was pretty accurate right out of the box. When I put on an aftermarket flash hider, it shot like crap. When I removed it, it shot well again.
The only explanation I have is that the flash hider changed the barrel resonance. Maybe you have a better one.

Best advise I have seen, so far, on this thread.
After all, there won't be many "experts" out here wtshtf.
Well done.

I am wondering when the gun counter at the Ft Knox PX will close? I would bet some of the busy body democrats who have infected the military have already sent a note to someone in AAFES asking for that to occur.

Ditto on joining the NRA. Even if you don’t like some of there actions, they’re the largest pro-gun lobby in the world. The more gun owners (voters) that belong to the NRA, the more powerful it is and the more likely we are to keep bad laws off the books.

I wonder how many BARTs we are away from something interesting.
Overheard one of the local LEOs chatting in my favorite gun store a few days ago.
Apparently the reason our locals kill so many people isn’t because we have any more crime than other cities, but because our LEOs are more dilligent than most, so they stir up more hornets.

The resonance can be mitigated by keeping other parameters exactly constant.
cartridge length, bullet seating, exact powder measure, exact weight of the case prior to loading (same batch) will cause the vibration propagation to be the same each time, and the bullet will leave the barral at same point in the wave.

That’s a gimme......gonna happen.
My last hurrah aka active duty visit to a DOD base was in 98. I retired in 94 and then stayed reserves for 4 more years. Even in 98 I could still pack my personal PDW’s on and off all bases I visited. Now after 9-11 that is a questionable option as some gate guards will and some won’t. When I asked for official clairification on the issue I was told NO they are not allowed. So some of the guards were Ok with it and ignored the ban, told me to just lock it in my trunk or a glovebox until I departed the site.
I don’t visit DOD bases these days unless working in official capacity in my new job which lets me pack what I want and where I want pretty much.
