It is no surprise that Obama thinks conservatives shouldn’t listen to Rush Limbaugh. What is surprising, however, is the reaction from some lefties about Obama’s comment: “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.” A liberal blogger at NoQuarter decided that if Obama wants people to turn off Rush Limbaugh then she’d better give him a listen. So she did. What did she find?
I gotta say, I might have to tune in to Rush a little more often. He echos some sentiments shared here, and he also gave me some new things to think about.He seems to be pretty tough on both liberals and conservatives. However, I think, the older I get, the more conservative I become. I found myself agreeing with some of his comments that I normally wouldn’t.
I can understand now why Obama is telling Republicans to turn off Rush, though. And I must say, I hope they don’t.
Gasp! Will wonders never cease? Like most liberals, she despised Rush, without ever actually listening to him. She posted clips from Rush’s interview with Hannity and asked NoQuarter readers what they thought of the interview. Granted, there were the typical, liberal rants about Rush, but here’s what some of them had to say:
Here!Here! I too never listened to Rush Limbaugh until during the elections and did not find him all that outrageous as the liberal media wanted to portray him. I also did not like Fox network before, but they seemed to be the only ones willing to let the people see the other side of issues. Now I don’t watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS.i allowed the left MSM to tell me for YEARS that the right was corrupt and evil… I learned my lesson.
Great article. Obviously, Obama fears Rush for a reason. That explains “do not listen to Rush” comment. I listen to Rush, started to when he was defending Hillary Clinton during the primaries. I have to say…Rush’s thought and opinions on the economy makes a lot of sense to me.
Limbaugh is ACCURATE PERIOD.
Well, I did not despise him, but wasn’t interested on what he has to say either. Then I read a New York Times profile about him and decided to tune in. I’m hooked now, the guy is really fun in the way he presents his views, very different from the always angry liberals.
I have to say that I am delightedly surprised by this turn of events.

No Quarter is a PUMA. I know alot of PUMA’s I talked to are turning to conservative values, realizing it doesn’t mean you have live like Ned Flanders (he is the one I use as example alot because alot of people assume that you are a Bible spouting dork if you aren’t a ‘cool’ Democrat. That that spouting the Bible makes you a dork, but you know what I mean, the perception) and about half have tuned in to drink the O-Koolaid.
Half is a good start. Especially since it seems about half our Republicans have turned over to the Dark Side as well.
OK, I have to tell my Rush story. I was selling leasing back 20 years and driving all over the area. I listened to WABC a lot, Dr Joy Browne was on from 10A to Noon, then one day a Rush Limbaugh was on...I listened and I was perplexed...then one day he was describing a “pamphlet” admonishing people NOT to use Crisco as a personal lubercant because Crisco is shortning. I used to work in Radio, Rush is the Master. Thanks to you, Rush! (I had to stop at the next rest area! LOL)
There might e some hope for America after all! What Obama did for gun sales he will do for conservative radio!
Obama made the mistake of actually drawing more attention to what he wants to put in a box. Happens all the time, just like how the controversies over things from Grand Theft Auto, Marilyn Manson et al mainly succeed in bringing in more cash for the target. Michael Moore is another one, and to be fair, Ann Coulter sort of fits this mold. The more outrageous she is and the more the left is outraged, the more money she makes.
For years now I’ve been telling my wife that there are a great many Democrats who don’t seem to understand they are conservatives. And they truly do NOT understand what the Democrat party really is. When you tell them they will NOT believe. Poor fools. Perhaps some will wake up.
Whew! A lefty listening to Rush for the first time is in for a good time.
I first started listening to Rush during long drives to grad school, majoring in Public Affairs, Political and Governmental Processes. (Does that sound liberal enough?) Believe me, Rush was a blessing.
There are dozens of stories of people who lives were changed just by listening to Limbaugh. Seriously - folks who were homeless or criminals somehow heard a Rush broadcast and then began to get their lives back in order.
If Obama is so convinced he’s right, let him debate Limbaugh.
He is using Alinsky rule #11...however forgot about Rule #5 in the process -
Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage
Also.....BO is a victim of #2 - we are seeing shades of that already -
Rule 2: Never go outside the experience of your people. The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.
BO cannot even stick successfully to his own playbook! He would make a crappy quarterback....LOL! ;)

They should have listened to the right months before the election. They have elected a clown and now they’re suffering from buyers remorse.

Actually most of the NoQuarter readers were Anti-Obama before he announced his campaign. They can typically be “heard” ranting “Own your sh*tty candidate!” to the Obots on their site.
I get your point, of course. It can be especially enraging to meet a “conservative” who voted for him and is just now asking questions. However, I’m happy to welcome discussion with anyone who can listen to reason.
