But the performance was for his ears only; everyone else got the "canned music" piped to them in a show of deception that makes one reminisce to Communist China's false presentations during the Olympics.

OH. GET. OVER. IT.

It was THEIR music that was being played. It was done because of the sensitivity of the instruments to the weather and performing the music would have been at best difficult and more likely impossible.

And the President probably didn't even know about it.

If you must be hysterical, at least find something worthy of the price of your blood pressure medicine.

This isn't it.

Big whoop.

When I watched it realtime I was wondering how in hell they managed not to have frozen fingers and assumed they might have been “bow synching” at the time.

There’ll be plenty of reasons to hold Obama’s feet to the fire but this sure in hell ain’t one of ‘em.

A semi-pro violinist I know was wondering how they could have played in that cold. I’m a guitarist who’s played outside gigs in the cold and it’s hell! In ten minutes you can’t even feel your fingers.

Don’t hold it against them. Ashley Simpson might be a no-talent fraud, but top-notch musicians like Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman are don’t have to prove anything to anybody.

The REAL mistake was whomever chose that quartet for the ceremony.

#####

Isn’t that the point of the article? That Obama is not ‘real’?

It was easy to see on the tv close-ups that they were not ‘really’ playing. Why would premier artists agree to sit there in the cold with bare fingers and pretend to play? Just more suspension of rational decisions by people in love with the Obama mystique. Yo-yo Ma was giggling. It was really weird!

The musicians should have insisted on and been provided with a small, lit cubicle on the stage where controlled warm air was circulating from heaters.

It's been done before in outdoor events and could have been done again.

Yo Yo and the Yo Yos were content to take a page from their Messiah's handbook and used fakery knowing they'd get a pass from the MSM and the lumpen masses.

But I don't think it did their reputations any good, at least, not with me.

Horseshit.

If playing recordings is OK, then why the attempt at deception?
Why have the musicians there at all?
Why not just pop a CD in the Bose and be done with it?

Or is it really just all about the appearances?
What's it gonna be?

I agree. Yo Yo Ma really gave it away with his chuckles-when he’s intensely playing, he doesn’t respond like that. The music was beautiful and the arrangement was composed by John Williams of great Hollywood music. I questioned how the stringed instruments could even be out in those elements as they would lose their tuned to key sound.

I don’t hold it against the musicians - although they shouldn’t have agreed to the fraud - but against Obama who convinced them to go out there and do it.

I have the utmost respect for the skill and dedication of these magnificent musicians - who would be anything but “frauds” unless an Obama gets to them - and aim my fire at the Fraud-in-chief.

Once in a while, I comment on other peoples’ articles.

When I do, I have the basic intelligence, the common sense, and for that matter the basic courtesy to read the article BEFORE posting a mindless comment.

If you actually bother to read my article, do ya really THINK I am outraged over the stupid canned music thing?

The title ITSELF should have tipped you off - canned music as METAPHOR for something ELSE.

Yeah, we get the strained metaphor, but

"pretentious names like Yo Yo Ma, Anthony McGill, Gabriela Montero, and Itzhak Perlman"

You use your hatred of Obama to insult these outstanding musicians. Pretentious? Pretentious????

You're a jackass.

I’ll wear the “jackass” label, coming from you.

The musicians are truly great performers. But - you stupid, miserable jackass - why did Barack Obama put them on that stupid platform when it was freaking January in Washington DC and it was TOO FREAKING COLD for them to perform?

It WASN’T because they were “outstanding musicians,” you retard; it was because they were big names and Barack Obama is a pretentious weasel who values the substance - EVEN THE PRETEND SUBSTANCE OF GREAT MUSICIANS STRUMMING ALONG WHILE CANNED MUSIC IS PIPED OVER LOUDSPEAKERS - over reality.

So I doubt very much you understand the “strained” metaphor. You don’t understand any other damned thing.

I can’t believe I am being forced to explain a simple progression of thought. But that’s the way it is with liberals, I suppose.

Here goes: the case of the canned music being passed off as the work of live performers is a case of a bait-and-switch. One thing is really going on, but we’re getting a different version. And I am using this canned music thing as a metaphor for other - SERIOUSLY BAD THINGS - that have gone on and saying that under Obama they will CONTINUE to go on.

And one of the reasons that they WILL continue to go on is because of STUPID PEOPLE who believe lies as a matter of course.

But I’m sure you have some other retard thing to say. It’s just the way you people are wired.

What's it gonna be?

It's gonna be a long frickin' 8 years if people don't stop getting hysterical over the non issues.

"You people?"

I've been here since 2000 pal (and lurking before that). Go back and read my posting history before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.

Well to be totally fair to you, I never got to your use of “metaphor.”

I stopped reading at the first paragraph. It was all down hill from there.
