If the bailout had truly been limited to the credit markets to get things rolling again, and the failed lending policies would have been fixed as part of the plan, I would still back it.
They lied to us. I suckered for it. And over other people’s objections, I supported the bailout.
I was wrong. I can’t believe what they are doing. And I’ll have to add, it’s incredible to see folks defend Bush as a good president.
At some point you even have to look at him and say I was wrong when I argued that he was a good man. You don’t lie to people and take advantage of them if you are a good man.
On some level, this guy is anything but a good man.
Look at what is taking place, the trillions being tossed every which way. And now Obama has permission to do the same thing.
Bush even suggested we should sign on to the LOST treaty. Just damn!
..You speak out strongly & boldly and aren't intimidated by the drive-bys-
..(I'm sure you know who I mean----the enemy working within the confines of this forum to undermine it)..
.. who heckle, insult and distort.
“Just damn!”
That about sums it up!
“Bush even suggested we should sign on to the LOST treaty. Just damn!”
As he leaves office, he knows he’s never going to get the support of conservatives. I just think he’s pandering, at this point, to whomever will make him feel good and give him a bit of credit. He could get a a bump up from some conservatives, if, for instance, he pardoned R & C. But I think the bipartisan powers that be will not allow it and so he’s gone to the other side to get, at this point, what little approval he can.
