Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's pick to fill President-elect Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat - Roland Burris - was sworn-in today by Vice-President Dick Cheney as a United States Senator from Illinois. Democrats at first said Burris would "never" be seated in the Senate, but they quickly changed their minds last week as the Obama Team seemed to decide it was best to seat Burris and get this story off the front pages of the media prior to the Inauguration on January 20, 2009. . . . . . There’s no illegal or unethical act or criminal person that the Dim’s can’t get away with is there?
Imagine if this guy was a Republican what a howl there would be in the media.
What’s illegal?
And how is this unethical?
Conservatives should be happy with this appointment. Without it they wouldn’t have a chance for this seat in 2010.
There was also a “lovefest” for Burris during a Chicago City Council meeting the other day. The Dem strategy is obvious—pretend Blago is the only crooked politician in Illinois. If we could just get rid of him, all would be right with the world...So they eliminated Burris as a target.
