was there any question?
media-less day for me.
I will actually put in a very full day of work, to pay for... well never mind. I’ll be working.
I've already bought commemorative coins as keepsakes for each of my children. I want them to remember this special event forever.
Good for you. And notice my tag—
A truly excellent post. It sums up my feelings as well.
Concur
me too.
it makes me ill to think people voted for this man.
the “jobs creation” thing is cracking me up. first it was 2 million, then 2.5 million, now it’s up to 4 million.
real sad thing is how many people drink the kool aid.
:-(
And if we're lucky, maybe Angela Davis will show up.
I haven’t watched ANY coverage of the “annointed one” since he won the primary. Right now “Death Wish 2” is on. A great movie that shows what an armed public can accomplish! John Wayne movies. “The Patriot” with Mel Gibson. That’s what I’ll be watching through January. February, I always watch “Roots” and “The Color Purple” to celebrate “Black History Month”! ~sarc
Once pro football’s over the alphabets get no further attention from me, just like every year for a long, long time. I’ll still take a peek now and then at FOX news. They’ll be who I’ll go to for coverage after the coronation so I can see what a cluster-you-know-what it turned out to be.
Great synopsis of how many of us feel. Dang near perfect.
Now I can just copy what you said and take credit for on other sites :)
Me, I'm gonna get all hammered up and listen to Iron Maiden.
Two minutes to midnight.
Phony balony, good time rock 'n' roller, "history" makes me sick. I don't have time for it.
The LARGE part of the reason old media collapsed in the last few years is that Conservatives stopped watching it.
Just in my household, we turned off the Network news, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and shut off the subscriptions to both Dallas Morning News and New York Times.
Keep in mind that I am a news hound and I actually do like many of the products (world news, science, arts etc) that all of the above companies provide.
However, due to the incessant insulting of Republicans and President Bush, I shut off the above media outlets from reaching me in my home.
In many ways when old media dies, it will be an UNNECCESARY death. They brought FORWARD their death by atleast a decade.
It is my contention that had media remained broadly fair they would have had atleast another 10 good years.
Sooner or later someone young and smart will test the above hypothesis and will prove it with surveys and smart searching of data. Then he/she will get a Ph.D.
When he/she does get that Ph.D. and publishes that best seller book, remember that I said it here first.
What I do care about is the wholesale surrender of the right, and the pervasive equivocation.
If Patton had acted like the right is now during WWII, half of us would be speaking German, and the other half would either be soap or axle grease.
Not holding my breath.
On 1/20 I will pray and fast for my country, because she has lost her way.
I have not watched any news since election night.
FOX News fawning over Bambi was the last straw for me. Tuesday is usually my day off, but I have elected to work on the 20th.
Excellent recipe for sanity and the future. But better yet, a great way to look at January 20th. I too will not watch a charlatan, a fake, an anti-American, who is TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED to be an American, in my opinion, let alone the president of this country.
As far as I am concerned we have a chance to again get a qualified president, a real American patriot, a CONSERVATIVE, that believes in the principles the founding fathers created this country under —— IN 2012. Until then, we pray the damage to the core essence of America will not be damaged to deeply such that we can again retake America and again acknowledge that we have a real American president.
Forgot to add, great post, and you are right on!
I will not be watching the “soros-circus”either, makes sick to think about it. Thanks for your post, you express how some of us feel about this sickening event.
