In the Chicago Sun-Times' Top Year-ends from its bottom rear-end today, columnist Richard Roeper picked Governor Sarah Palin as his top GOOF for 2008... yet got owned himself by awarding her his dubious distinction based on at least one lie and a few dubious assumptions.
Roeper, a man that clearly imagines himself the living embodiment of the lead character on Seinfeld, lapsed into the most supreme case of hyperbolic overload in his description of why he thinks Sarah Palin is a GOOF (a self-fashioned acronym standing for Greatly Overhyped and Overexposed Fool).
Of course Roeper starts with the canard of Palin supposedly not knowing what the "Bush Doctrine" is. The problem with this claim is that there really IS no such concrete thing as the "Bush doctrine." As Charles Krauthammer so cogently revealed, Bush has had several different versions of it himself, so no one really knows what the "Bush doctrine" is. It has changed so much that there really is no way to say there is a single such doctrine.
Roeper goes on to exaggerate the Tina Fey spoof of Palin saying she could "see Russia from my house." Palin did not say that Alaska's close proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy credentials as Roeper claims...

libs never let facts get in the way of a good hate...
They are good for a laugh now and again.
Mostly I just shake my head and wonder if they will ever learn.
Leftists = People of the Lie.
Nimrod Roeper failed to notice when he pointed a finger at Palin that three of his digits were pointed at his own clownish self.
They fear Palin and they’re preferred weapon against her for now is pretending that making fun of her is all that is required to exclude her from future public life.
Once they realize that their lame and off-target jokes won’t work, they will get deadly serious. They will do whatever they can to prevent a Palin ‘12.
I hope Sarah enjoys the next few years. She should be the best governor and the best granny. And then she could spend a few days every month in the lower 48 with aspiring conservatives, building a support group, all this very quietly. I think she would be a force to be dealt with, of course if she wants to. I would not blame her though,if she wanted to retire to her home town.
That one substitution clears up the story smog immensely. Try it and see.
But they are working. A very high percentage of Americans now see Palin as the airheaded dolt in the comedians' caricatures. She's been successfully Quayle-ized, and it will be a long road back for her.
When you control the media, you can make reality.
Never write a column drunk.
GOOF, let me see, Palin, Obama, Palin, Obama...anybody really have any problem deciding who is the GOOF?
Very true. However, when people start realizing that the media are nothing but running dog lackeys for the government class that stole their retirements (and said government class KEPT their cushy retirements), things are going to change, big-time.
Just mock anyone who reads newspapers or watches TeeVee for their "news". We'll see who the "cool kids in school" are at the end of the day...
Amazing that Dick Doeper took time out from tongue-cleaning Obama’s b*lls and *sshole long enough to write this column...
Currently, Governor Sarah Palin is the only Republican politician who is in high demand on the talk show circuit, has galliardising support, is directly or indirectly responsible for developing massive email distribution lists, growing the online presence of conservative chat rooms, networking site and blogs and has the ability to fund-raise at the level of President Bush. Since the Nov. 4th election, most of the new conservative blogs and sites have been created on behalf of Sarah Palin or created by administrators supportive of Palin and/or her conservative positions. The online growth (blogs, youtube, conservative social networking) is Palin motivated and Palin targeted.
The three largest national pro-Palin organizations, http://www.draftpalinforpresident.com/, http://www.teamsarah.org/ and the http://www.nfrw.org/links.htm have nearly 300,000 members. All three groups have a national organization, a fundraising apparatus and have utilized their membership lists, technology and networking capabilities to work on behalf of Senator Chambliss. DraftPalin and teamsarah only developed their networks in the last 45 days. These three sites, in combination with the other pro-Palin sites/blogs and networks will easily exceed the 1 million membership mark before the end of next year.
