VANITY!!! But, what the hey...it's NYE. Who else has read Bastiat? I'm reading it now and really...why don't smart people rule us and why don't they read this stuff???
To quote a famous little critter; "We have met the enemy and he is us."
It should be required reading in every high school.
Where would they fit it in … what with all the green earth stuff and classes on how to put a condom on a cucumber, no time for real education, ;-)
The people who rule us understand there is that which is seen and that which is not seen. That much they do get.

They do not want us to know that a free and unfettered market, driven by voluntary interaction is the way to real freedom. They desire to enslave us, economically and socially.

I am so sorry...and I apologize profusely (who am I apologizing to??)...I bought the book in 2000 and actually bought two. Gave the other to someone who DID read it.
But, must say so apropos to now...

THE LAW is one of my most favorite books. It should be required reading in every high school. As I recall, it is only about fifty pages long.

AND! Bastiat wrote it in 1850...he wrote it the year before he died and he knew he was dying of TB. It reads like today. What they have planned for us.

One of the best books ever. As fresh and relevant as today. A short and easy read. Anyone who hasn’t read it should get a copy and then pass it on. Buy copies for friends.
