How do you determine if you’re a Christian though?
I believe we have already determined that one can spread rumors and lies about others and still be a Christian.
Or at least that is what the actions and words of a select few on this thread seam to imply.
Maybe so. Tell me, then, how do you interpret the creation account in Genesis as God related it to mankind?
I will the moment you renounce your false statements against me or you can simply admit that you feel those sections of the Bible that prohibit the spreading of rumors don’t apply to you.
You expect honesty and decency from someone that has to reject 99.9% of man's research in order to follow what his preacher tells him on Sunday?
All I expect is for someone who professes to be a follower of something to actually follow the major requirements of that which they follow.
It appears that isn’t always the case.
What research is that that people are rejecting? Or perhaps, to make it easier, what are people not rejecting of man's research?
What are people's preachers telling them on Sundays that people are rejecting that research to follow?
What are honesty and decency?
How are they defined in scientific terms?
What standards are used to determine what they are?
How do you determine that someone deviates from honesty if science isn’t about truth?
Preachers who say the Earth is 10k years old are wrong.
Preachers who say the Sun goes around the Earth are wrong.
Preachers who teach their flock that lying and gossiping are OK are going against the plain meaning of their holy books.
Which ones?

My comment that you misspelled of *repeatably* might qualify as a false statement. If you intended to use that word, you can hardly be accused of misspelling something you made up. If you make up a word, you can spell it however you wish.
So why are you accusing only ME of spreading those rumors? What about all the other FReepers who said or implied the same thing? Don’t you have issues with them as well?

The plain meaning is that is isn’t to be taken in a literal way.

Your refusal to state that the Earth orbits the Sun, while not definitive, is rather telling.

I didn’t know that Ken Ham was a preacher. Where did he get ordained?
Where was Kent Hovad ordained?

KH is an Independent Baptist - you know as well as I do that they have no formal ordination process.
And yes I have heard most make such statements in person - those that I haven’t seen in person I have seen in unedited videos.
So the plain meaning is plain when you want it to be, but not so plain when you don’t want it to be?
How else does one interpret the plain meaning of “ God created “,”God said”,”God separated “,”God called”,”God made”,”God placed “,”God blessed”?
Those are basic declarative statements. Why are they not as plain as the verses you keep posting? Why read more into some verses and not others? On what basis do you decide when to take the plain meaning and when not to.
