Information scientist, author and evangelist, Dr Werner Gitt, a close friend of CMI, told us that on 23 October 2008 he was subjected to the most strident opposition he had ever encountered...

I can’t speak for those people, but did you read my post at 296?
According to Darwin himself, life must begin simple. If life begins complex, you have the signature of God. I don’t think Darwin would believe in evolution, if he knew what we knew today.
I don’t know, but I would say that some people have evolution confused with growth. Does the human evolve from a fetus to a newborn? Or does it grow? Off the top of my head, that is what I would say.
Longview Baptist Temple across from Super One Foods in Longview Texas feels that reading the Bible literally is critical to ones salvation.
Correction: you take issue with such tactics only when the target is safe, and you know it. I wonder how you'd react if evolution were ever attacked in the name of the vast spiritual wisdom of "non-Western cultures???"
Considering how little courage is required to bash "slack-jawed trailer park yokels," I wonder if you realize what cowards and bullies people seem who concentrate exclusively on them and never utter a word about anyone else's religiosity, dogmatism, or "dominionism?"
The contents of my religion are simple: the Torah is absolute. Do you understand what that means? Does it bother you?
You descendants of white European chr*tians are just going to have to get used to "otherness!"
Do you imagine yourself to be a "safe target"?
See below:
Your religious beliefs aren't my concern. It doesn't bother me as long as you don't bother me with it.
As long as you don’t use the word paradigum :)
Certainly the evo cultists are, no doubt about that.
I need a definition before I can use it. Be back....
What is an evo cultist?
I heard that them evos are members of the Evil Atheist Conspiracy!
BTW: I just found this word used at du. I think it was meant as a paradigm shift, but I aint real sure. To be sure, I would have to think like a leftist. For me to think like a leftist, I would have to pull the spine out of my back, paint my belly yellow, and remove 99% of my brain. So, I think I will stop now and never use the word. I am with you.
What you hope and believe is not the focus of the sentence. Why should we embrace evolution as the tool He used? How do you know it is?
Bible literalism as used by the evos is taking every word of the Bible as literal, word for word, not recognizing allegory, metaphor, etc. Changing the meaning of Bible literalism is moving the goalposts.
A plain, face value reading of the Bible, while recognizing allegory, metaphor, etc, is not the literalism as defined by the evos. The evos consistently attack creationists for taking the Bible literally and not recognizing different literary styles. I don’t know of any group that does not recognize different literary styles and how to interpret them.
The literary error is to take something that is a s simple statement and try to read more into than is meant.
So when it says, Gen 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
there is no reason that that cannot be taken as a simple statement of fact and there’s no reason to try to read more into it and interpret it to say the God used evolution to create man. That’s twisting Scripture. But that is not demanding that the whole Bible be taken literally, word for word.
Can you give us examples of scripture that should not be taken as simple statements of fact, and what methodology is used to determine which is which?
Heliocentrism or geocentrism, Metmom?
You'll either need to reinterpret your holy book in the light of science or ignore the embarrassing parts.
Sorry, but that's just the way it is.
By the way, your tagline... who are you fighting?
That is correct. It is from an IBM add from the .com days - around 2000 - 2001.
It was in response to the GOP’s loss.
Right on.
I’m sure it can be, ah, misinterpreted. ;)
