Obama on Meet the De-Press-ed - Wow, he sounds like a Republican!!!!

To my Conservative Friends:

As I have told ya in the past - That Barack Obama - He's one smooth talker!!!!

If any of you just came back from a 2-year trip to Mars and had no idea who Barry Hussein Obama was, and watched our new President on Meet the Depressed yesterday, you would swear to Ronald Reagan that you were listening to a new, Republican President. Not a rock-ribbed lefty from the south side of Chi-town!!!

The obvious question that begs for an answer is - Do you buy it??? Now, I don't want to spoil your Monday morning with any pessimism, but I would have to say I am less than convinced that this dyed-in-the-wool lib has changed his stripes so quickly....

First let's review some of the less-than-liberal comments our new Prez made Sunday to the wily veteran, quasi-socialist anchor, Tom Broken-jaw yesterday:

* "The days of just pork coming out of Congress as a strategy - Those days are over!" - WOW!!! - Hey, Bar - I have some of my buddies on the left side of my street here that just heaved their Sunday eggs into their laps!! And I could imagine....

That’s funny you said that. I watched some of MTP and when 0bama said he wasn’t pulling out the troops and that he wouldn’t roll back the tax cuts, I thought the same thing. That he sounded like a Repubbie. THen I went to an Homeowners meeting at 10am, and the President of the Association was saying to everyone he was sorry that we had to miss some of Obama .....to which I replied that I heard some of it and was very happy to hear he would not roll back the tax cuts or pull the troops out of Iraq and lose the war. He didn’t say a word after that.

At DNC 2004 convention, I recall people saying he sounded liked a conservative. Obama is smart, smart, he knows how to parse words so that he can insert one word that will change the entire sentence meaning for people that can speak in code. That is he knows how to say what people want to hear, but underneath it he is saying something totally different.

The first term for guys like Obama is all about re-election. His lefty appointments will be under the radar. Most of his high profile appointments will be so called “moderates”. Ayers and that ilk will be given power in a way Obama will not be held accountable.

He is not sounding like a Republican. However, he IS finally taking his head out of a very dark place as he is being ‘filled in’ on the stark realities of how the world really works (as opposed to how the DNC instructs him to sound in order to connect with the brain dead losers he needs to win an election)

Nothing new here. Was he really able to deliver on all the Utopian BS he spewed during the campaign? NOT. However, he had to say those things to make himself sound different from his opponent. I wonder why McCain did not PRESS him for details on how he would perform all the miraculous things he promised. That would have exposed him for the flim flam guy he is ...ON THE SPOT!

Act like a Pubbie and we’ll keep ya!

I just don’t believe him. I thought he’s out there proposing New Deal II?

Personally, I find that I am heavily leaning to THIS interpretation of Obama:

“This is tricky! Obama is just appointing bumper-sticker centrists, but the real governance is done beneath the radar-screen, so watch him usher in a host of stealthy leftists to wage the revolution;”

Exactly. Then the media, in their stupidity, pick up on and spin what he didn’t say as if he said it. For example, all he said about not smoking in the White House is that he wouldn’t ‘be seen’ violating the no-smoking policy. That was a wiggle statement that would make Bill Clinton proud, yet all the press picked up on it as if he’d promised not to smoke in the White House. Then the headline writers simply followed suit.

That Barack Obama - He's one smooth talker!!!!

He's trying to make you think that he's not so bad, but I wouldn't believe anything he says. More proof that he's The AntiChrist.

It is unusual. I’m not sure what to make of this.

I watched part of MTP yesterday, as much as I could handle of Obama’s voice, and I came away from it thinking that he sounded pretty much the same as he did in the campaign—long winded and making it up as he goes.

Oh, but the good news is - he promises to not smoke in the White House! Hallelujah! I’m sure millions of Americans are now going to give up smoking.

And if he does make good on this promise, he will make the republican very unelectable in the future. As we all know all too well the republicans did NOTHING conservative as far as spending went for the past 4 years of so.

Don't be so sure about that. He's in the win 'em all over phase. He'll be back to his roots immediately. Just remember how liberal he was while in office. Even in the little he accomplished, he was as far left as you get.

No different than the positive spin on everything else for Barry. The Hawaiian officials have said they have A birth certificate (even though outside births are issued birth certificates) are spinned to “Hawaiian officials have stated that they have seen his birth certificate and that he was born there”.

See, it’s easy for the ignorant sheeple.

Yep, another of almost endless examples. Frustrating but reality.

Maybe..and that would be great. But, I don't think he can deliver on all the pie in the sky BS he campaigned with.

In the meantime, he insulated himself from the ire of supporters by making Evita Sec. of State. SHE can deliver the ‘bad news’ to supporters about our maintaining our commitment to allies and about our finishing what we started in the WOT. Time for all of them to GROW UP about national security, anyway. In any case... ill will about continuing our military course will be directed to Evita, NOT the new ‘Mr. “I Hate America” President’.

The obvious question that begs for an answer is - Do you buy it???

I buy it in this sense: Obama, more than any other recent President, is a figurehead. He will do what his cabinet officers 'advise' him to do. Furthermore, Dem opposition to GWB was always based on personal emnity coupled with the fear that Bush's "Compassionate Conservatism" might just permanently steal some of the Dem base.

I think when all is said & done that Obama's track-record is going to look a lot like Bush's.
