Obama Derangement Syndrome ... Conservatives Need to Shut Up About the Birth Certificate
HNN ^ | December 6, 2008 | David Horowitz

Posted on 12/07/2008 1:48:09 AM PST by malkee

The continuing efforts of a fringe group of conservatives to deny Obama his victory and to lay the basis for the claim that he is not a legitimate president is embarrassing and destructive. The fact that these efforts are being led by Alan Keyes, an unhinged demagogue on the political fringe who lost a senate election to the then unknown Obama by 42 points should be a warning in itself.

This tempest over whether Obama, the child of an American citizen, was born on American soil is tantamount to the Democrats' seditious claim that Bush "stole" the election in Florida and hence was not the legitimate president. This delusion helped to create the Democrats' Bush derangement syndrome and encouraged Democratic leaders to lie about the origins of the Iraq War, and regard it as illegitimate as Bush himself. It became "Bush's War" rather than an American War with destructive consequences for our troops and our cause.

The Birth Certificate zealots are essentially arguing that 64 million voters should be disenfranchised because of a contested technicality as to whether Obama was born on U.S. soil. (McCain narrowly escaped the problem by being born in the Panama Canal zone, which is no longer American.)

Why does the IRS may me file a tax return? They should simply trust that I have paid the proper tribute amount of tax.

For someone who throws around accusations that we haven’t read the constitution, you really have no idea what it says.

And any naturalized citizen can get an US passport as well. It means nothing to the argument over Obama’s legitimacy.

The fact that Pravda has already raised the question of validity of treaties and agreements signed by Obama tells me that just leaving the question unanswered is going to cause major problems.

Then there’s the possibility of American soldiers being seized by a country accusing them of operating unlawfully under orders of an illegitimate leader.

The constitutional cowards need to man up and defend it, unless they’re hoping for failure in which case they aren’t Americans in my eyes.

And I'm sure you're right. Their [the MSM's] hypocrisy is nauseating and infuriating.

I'll go you one better: it is treason. The agenda and loyalties of the MSM is NOT to America, NOT to our Constitution nor our Republic, they have become a multi-headed hydra of subversion and sedition. They believe themselves to be above any law, and that they answer to nobody.

Their day is coming too. And just like their fallen idol of global Communism, they will likewise be scooped up in the dustbin of history and they will lie, accuse and afflict no more.

David was an OLR or Original Leftist Radical—now born-again hard right. So he knows how the American socialists think.
One should take his advice seriously.

If the GOP had followed his teachings in the past we would now not only have huge Republican majorities on Capital Hill but GOP Presidents as far as the future would allow—and every one a true conservative.

Still, before I can forget about BHO’s BC,I would like to see it.

My son needed HIS every time he went out for football.I should think going out for POTUS would require the same in the least.

This is the first I have heard about a birth announcement in a Hawaii paper. If there was such a birth announcement just after his birth, I would be ready to throw in the towel on this issue. There would be no reason to fabricate Hussein’s place of birth AT THAT TIME.

As another poster pointed out further up in this thread, there was every reason to fabricate a place of birth, if in fact 0bama was NOT born on U.S. soil, i.e., in 1961 the images of East Germans desperately trying to flee to the West, of Cubans putting anything into the water that might float in hopes of escaping Castro's new Communist tyranny, everyone was cognizant of the priceless nature of freedom, particularly the freedom accorded to United States citizens, and there would be EVERY reason to wish for a child born in a foreign land to know the advantages of American citizenship.

I contend that there was more than ample reason to fudge the official records in 1961 in behalf of Baby Barry, even IF nobody knew he would one day parlay his 1-1/2 years of Senatorial experience into becoming the President-elect.

I'm curious, Into the Vortex, if John Quincy Adams was born in London or even on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic, would he have been eligible to be POTUS?

If you had read the constitution you would know that it didn't matter where John Quincy Adams was born as long as he was a citizen.

Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution:

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

yes, but in our case there’s no excuse. We have history to learn from but apparently we’ve not learned much.

I’ve read the Constitution and the Federalist papers with regard to the 14th Amendment. And as for the Supreme Court, don’t even go there that they follow the Constitution to the intent, if they did, the Heller case would have been 9-0.

If he is ineligible, I can promise you someone will out him, it is just a matter of time. However, would it be better to know for sure, BEFORE the electoral college meets or after he has been inaugurated?

IMHO, the entire conflict between liberals and conservatives regarding Obama’s Constitutional qualifications boils down to how each side handles injustice.

In the Old Testament we are shown a Holy God on the Mercy Seat in the Tabernacle/Temple has being flanked by a cherub on one side representing perfect Righteousness and on the other side, a facing cherub representing perfect Justice.

Whenever exposed to unrighteousness, His perfect Justice demanded perfect Righteousness, and whenever exposed to injustice, His perfect Righteousness demanded perfect Justice.

The application of those perspectives in our legal system is established by a Legislative Branch discriminating the rules between righteousness and unrighteousness, a Judicial Branch judging issues of perceived unrighteousness before them, and an Executive Branch exercising the operations in support of the nation by the rules of the Legistlature and Judgment of the Judicial Branch.

IMHO, this is essentially the conservative view, while the liberal view has attempted to promote policies of righteousness which are only righteous in their own eyes, while perceiving justice as an execution of punishment or hinderance to that which is righteous in the eyes of the liberals. Their Justice doesn’t demand righteousness when faced with unrighteousness, rather they perceive all righteousness is relative and no justice is required unless they alone perceive unrighteousness.

In a nutshell, they do not respect God given rights in part because they really don’t believe in God. Without God, there can be no God given rights, rather merely a policy of might makes right in a relative fashion, being righteous in their own eyes.

The founders knew that human nature would eventually lead to an abuse of power, that is why we have the 2nd Amendment. Just like Thomas Jefferson said:

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Why would he even “review” it if something didn't catch his interest?

Even if this doesn't pan out, I like the fact that Hussien is playing defense. I want him on defense for 4 years-no matter how trivial the “issue” is. I don't care if it makes me look foolish-I intend to do my little part to make democrats miserable. After what they did to President Bush during his term, it's ALL on the table. Everyday. If that makes me a wingnut-so be it.

Thank you David for your opinion but this country was founded on the Rule of Law. If someone doesn't meet the laws regarding this citizenship he can't be elected president. George Bush didn't make these laws the founders of our country did.

Also Obama could resolve this whole issue by just releasing his birth certificate for all to examine for the sake of full disclosure. I'll show him mine.

Everything pertaining to Obama is sealed, his heath records, his grades, his thesis, his BC, everything! Oh, and nobody is allowed to talk to anyone in his family. And to top it off, his only history with regard to being a Senator is running for President and voting present.
