Time for a Horus (Cat) Update

I have discovered the only sure way to get Horus to exercise: I have to wander aimlessly from room to room in the house; Horus then follows me (sometimes even running ahead and jumping on furniture in defiance of fat-cat-gravity). I know from prior experience that simply projecting myself from a to b will not work. Horus seems to know that I have a purpose and a destination, and he waits me out (since frequently I return from b to a). Ah, but let me go in search of something I have misplaced (in this case a copy of In Bruges), and Horus will not allow me to leave his sight. Thus, we meandered in the wilderness for lo unto 15 minutes, because 1) I really want to watch In Bruges; and 2) I became interested in seeing how long Horus would trail about after me.
Finally discovering the movie where I left it (on the floor of the bedroom, right where it belongs), and having settled in with Colin Farrell (on my MEL except for the fly-in-the-ointment of probably has every STD known to man), I have released Horus from his Herculean labors. He is performing feline ablutions at my feet, hoping (Im sure) for one last Kitty Treat from the Secret Drawer.

Our semi-feral cat died of renal failure a couple of years ago, plain brindle markings. After a couple of months my wife was still despondent so I suggested she go ahead and get another cat. She came home with Daisy, a black-and-white female similar to the ones on this page.
She’s our little fat, wide-track cutie; spreads like an adder when she settles down, but she really doesn’t eat a lot. She’s just big. She drinks a heck of a lot of water, and goes through a lot of litter as well, but we can’t let her out to pee because her previous human had her declawed. I wouldn’t do that, but as I watch her try to sharpen her nonexistent claws on everything, I’m glad someone did. Otherwise all our furniture would be shredded.

I’ll have to ask my husband to take a picture of our new Birman and post it. We have always had Himalayans and after we had one of our two put to sleep our vet called to say someone had dropped one off at her office and she wanted us to have her. When we went to look at her, she was beautiful but not a Himmy. She’s a seal lynx point Birman. Our vet didn’t klnow about Birmans we had to explain about the white feet. She also has the old doll face look of the older Himmy which I MUCH prefer!

I know exactly what you mean. And the blue eyes are not photoshopped. They're incredible. Here's her little sister...incidentally purchased from Kim (on that link I posted)
I drove from Bethesda Maryland to Rochester New York to pick her up...and she slept all the way home. ;^)

Bert Prelusky: ...It isnt simply that single women, who often prefer felines to canines, tend to vote Democratic. It really goes to the nature of the animals, themselves.
Cats are finicky. Which is just a Madison Avenue euphemism for being snooty, snobbish and stand-offish. Dogs are honest, friendly and loyal. Just looking at them makes people feel good. Which is why you even find them appearing in TV commercials that have nothing to do with kibble or flea collars. It also explains why so many of them, including Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, Asta, Old Yeller and Benjy, have been movie stars.
Cats speak French. Or are you going to insist that meow doesnt sound like something nasty a Parisian would say behind your back? Dogs speak English, and theyre plain spoken. Cats arch their backs and hiss. Dogs wag their tails and let you know youve been missed when youve been out of sight for all of thirty seconds.
With a cat, you cant do anything right. With a dog, you can do no wrong.

Himalayans and Birmans are very similar, aren't they? Obviously enough to fool a vet. LOL!
Ragdolls kittens change completely when they age.
The white color changes to grey fox-like. The ruff stays snow white.
This is the same kitty as in my previous post.

Them are some purty kitties. I love the ragdoll, and I usually don’t like long-haired cats. Thanks!
