Electric Drag Racing - 1972 Datsun 210 - 11.5 quarter mile

Interesting video of a guy that converted his 1972 Datsun 210 to run on batteries. He takes it to the track and smokes a late model Corvette as well as a BMW. It broke several speed and time records for an electric vehicle that particular day. It is a must watch kind of video. Enjoy it.

Saw the video a couple weeks ago on a OPB program...one part that stuck out was that it took him an hour to recharge the lithium battery packs after each quarter mile run of 0-100+mph in 11 seconds...they also showed a electric powered motorcycle that had anti tip outriggers because of the acceleration. I have been tinkering with a 24 volt electric scooter that goes from 0-12mph so fast that it almost throws you off the back of the seat...I had been considering changing over to lithium packs, but, I think I will have to install a better throttle control first.

After reading the link that Perfect Stranger posted it's a Datsun 1200 not a 210. I seem to remember the 1200 turned into the 210 at some time.

You should be the guy they talk to when they want a GT version of the Segway.

Good plan. Give one to the whole Obama cabinet while you’re at it.

I had a 69 510. Tough little car. I took off the air pump and put a header on it. Drove it through college. Little sucker could take a beating.
