The CEO of the Young Women's Christian Association said that the group is "pro-choice" and would support the Freedom of Choice Act, which President-elect Obama has pledged to sign into law.
Another organization to add to my boycott list.
The YWCA has no credibility anymore. As far as I’m concerned they are just another leftist interest group, no different than the People for the American Way, ACORN, NOW, etc.
Change the "C" to "P" for "Pagan."
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic List:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of interest.
Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment
Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
“The YWCA has no credibility anymore. As far as Im concerned they are just another leftist interest group, no different than the People for the American Way, ACORN, NOW, etc.”
Exactly! What a shame.
Another organization to add to my boycott list.
***It’s strange that we need to do that to organizations that have the word “christian” in their title, and at one time even had a true christian heritage.
“Change the “C” to “P” for “Pagan.”’
I was also thinking along those lines.
Thanks for contacting your list.
“Its strange that we need to do that to organizations that have the word christian in their title, and at one time even had a true christian heritage.”
It’s unbelievable. (I wonder if the YMCA has also turned leftist.)
Just another group that should have the “Christian” aborted from their acronym. What a disgrace.
I have news for the Y, if your “choice” is to kill the unborn - you “ain’t no” Christian!!!!
Absolutely True. I suspect the last Christian involved with the Y(M|W)CA left probably a hundred years ago. The Y(M|W)CA is about as Christian as CAIR is Jewish.
I’m pro-choice. (See my tagline)
They don’t know the meaning of the term.
What they are is pro-infanticide.
Please get educated about Pagans
Protecting Black Life has a press release that’s a year old on their site that outlines a clear agenda by the YWCA that is pro-abortion. It documents an incident that, like I said, happened a year ago, but I think is pertinent to this thread.
Excerpt:
“Through one of its many education and training programs, the YWCA serves low-income young women, some of who are pregnant. Some of these young African American women are contemplating abortion decisions. In an effort to educate them with alternative, life-affirming options, Ms. Shannon Nixson, an African American Xavier University graduate student, and YWCA Case Manager, invited Protecting Black Lifes Urban Outreach Director, Arnold Culbreath to conduct a presentation to equip the women with knowledge, thus empowering them to make the most informed decision possible. Although, several of the young women have chosen life for their pre-born babies as a result of attending the presentation, and even though Ms. Nixson was given authorization to invite Mr. Culbreath to come, Ms. Nixson was fired by the YWCA on Thursday, November 1, 2007, and Mr. Culbreath was banned from conducting any pro-life presentations at the YWCA in the future. While being informed that her firing was effective immediately, Ms. Nixson was also told that the aforementioned presentation did not fit within the mission and vision of the YWCA.

Why? Are you claiming my analogy is inaccurate? Dwight Moody, one of the greatest Christian figures of times past, founded the YMCA. In his old age, he admitted his regret in doing so, feeling God didn't call him to to start it. Now, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything remotely Christian about either the YMCA or the YWCA. I doubt you'd find much Jewish in CAIR either. I don't recall pagans identifying themselves as Christian, either, and in fact seem to relish in being as far distanced from Christians as one could. Much as the modern YWCA and YMCA are from their origins.
I like your tagline!
Thanks for that telling link and excerpt. Evil is everywhere.
