The problem isn’t the ‘possibility’ he isn’t a natural born citizen, the problem is, he has been certified by all the States and the State of Hawaii has certified the COLB. This puts the burden of proof on us, not on Obama’s camp. We can’t just cast doubt, we have to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt. This means providing evidence far more than what bloggers have shown, we can’t have any holes in our case, period.

I believe this all makes FR look foolish. This is the sort of thing that we denigrate and make fun of when the other side does it.

Correction to my last post!

Hawaii DID NOT certify his COLB, they merely said he has a BC on record not what the BC says or where he was born. The proof is on Bozo, not the electorate. The founders clearly expected people to provide proof of their birth. The fact that the qualification exists in the Constitution is ample evidence that the candidate must provide proof of his/her qualifications, including proof of birth, otherwise why bother placing qualifications in the Constitution? Bozo is clearly responsible for proving he was born in the US. It is such a simple thing to do, and because he won't do it proves to me he is not a Natural born citizen.

This is a classic example of “No controlling authority.” There is no mechanism in place to adjudicate this, and Obama’s not about to set a precedent if doesn't have to. That's probably why he won't release the “vault copy.”

I must respectfully disagree. He has been certified by the States as being the Democrat Nominee for President - NOT that he is constitutionally qualified to be President. That is the substance of the Donofrio suit, which is currently in conference before the Supreme Court.

The State of Hawaii has certified that Obama has a birth certificate on record, but they have not indicated that the birth certificate actually says he was born in Hawaii. As another poster pointed out, his Indonesian-born sister has a COLB on file in Hawaii, too.

The burden of proof remains on Obama to prove that he is Constitutionally qualfied to be President. Of the three requirements (age, residency, and natural birth status), the birth certificate proves two of them.

I agree wholeheartedly. When factcheck.org posts pictures of the actual birth certificate and news clippings of the birth announcement, it doesn’t matter if he was born in the USA or not. He has the documentation showing that he was born in the USA and that is all the courts would ever go on.

This is a dead issue and when it is brought up, images of tinfoil show up on the heads of those that engage in this and they are instantly discredited.

I am hoping that this isn’t the dawning of Vince Foster, Mena airport conservatism all over again. Instead of chasing this stuff, I say stick to old fashioned arguments in the realm of ideas and converting voters.
