While Pope Benedict XVI will continue to show the world that he tried by having more interfaith talks, it appears that he knows that nothing will result from them. He sees that these conferences are full of empty talk by Muslims, as nothing actually gets any better for the Christians and Jews living in Islamic countries.

I think it was all a show. He seems to get it.

I think it was all show, too. He understands Muslims, he is POPE, he’s read the church’s history. He probably wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, and he wanted it to be public, so all could see that they agreed to something/ then broke the agreement. Or lied. Or whatever happened this time.

But what he's doing is keeping the knowledge that "nothing gets better for Jews and Christians" after talks with Muslims in the public arena. The Muslims can't say he didn't try. He tried, they don't and won't follow through.

It's Muhammad's fault. Islam is a flawed religion/cult. Talking doesn't change their treatment of Jews and Christians. Talking works in all other venues, but not with Muhammadanism/Islam. So the problem is with Islam not with Jews and Christians.
