The New Plan? Cripple Honda! Save Detroit with Card Check! Eliminating the secret ballot and making it easier to organize U.S. Honda and Toyota workers (and imposing contract terms via binding arbitration) would "level the playing field," says Dem. Congressman Tim Ryan. ... Then when Honda and Toyota responded by importing more cars from abroad, we could have import quotas! Eventually the whole automotive sector could be planned by Congress in conjunction with existing business and labor interest groups. Red State has seen the future and it is corporatist. ...12:21 P.M.

Just keep sucking Democrats! You’ll drain the body eventually.
This is one way to make sure any future plants are in “right to work” states.
Just another piggy bank they haven’t robbed yet.
Protectionist policies are one of the elements that prolonged the Great Depression 1. So far, not a single “fix” has done anything to stop the coming Great Depression 2. Change we can believe in, pocket change.
This made me aware of the connection between this “Employee Free Choice” nonsense and some plan to “level the playing field”. I don’t know why it hadn’t occured to me before.
And of course, import restrictions after we start buying our Hondas from Japan (where they’re made better anyway).
The modern dhimmicratic party: No knowledge of economics, no knowledge of human nature, no knowledge of nuttin’!
Sounds like a great way to run jobs out of the US and make cars unaffordable! 4 yrs. of this kind of policy is going to be a huge disaster for this country.
Give them four years and the Dems will do for every business what they did for Fannie Mae.
Exactly.
People like to gripe about outsourcing, but they don't realize the amount of jobs that are in-sourced because of Honda and Toyota.
The corporations have yet to begin fighting this.
IIRC, A Wal*Mart store in Canada was being threatened with unionization. Rather than put up with the BS, Wal*Mart closed the store.
“start buying our Hondas from Japan (where theyre made better anyway).”
Can you elaborate on this (made better in Japan). My Element was basically made here in the USA. I abuse the thing and it keeps on going. All I basically do is change oil and add gasoline when needed :-)! From what I understood, 20% of a Honda is fabricated in Japan (engine and transmissions)...the rest is made here.
It is not my intent to be argumentative .... I just want to know what you might have heard.
I hate unions and Democrats.
Pack up the plant and move it overseas, along with the rest of the industry we used to have.
folks I always try to buy everything American made, but if these people force this bailout on us knowing what those CEO’s and the union people make, then I’ll never buy another GM or Chrysler or Ford car again...
Can anyone name anything good that socialism has ever done for anybody?
