Confirmation: Obama Voters Had No Idea What “Change” Meant

But I thought we wanted change?

Changing the way government works may have been the winning message on Election Day, but three out of four Republicans (75%) are worried that Barack Obama will change things too much as president. Half of unaffiliated voters (49%) share that concern, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Democrats take the opposite view, with 52% worried that the new president won’t change things enough. Just 19% fear he’ll go too far.

Overall, 46% of voters are worried Obama will change too much, while 32% say he will change too little. Another 22% are undecided.

Look at the last line. Given that Obama won the popular vote by 53-46, can we assume that the 46% in the survey that think Obama will change too much are McCain supporters? If so, then the rest are all Obama supporters. Which means that 32% of his supporters think he’s too conventional and a 22%, representing fully 40% of his supporters, have no idea whether he will change too much or too little - i.e. clueless about his proposals.

Well, those 22% will have 2 years to learn whether they chose wisely. If Obama follows through on his campaign promises, they may find out just how uncomfortable change can be.

Well, we know one thing it means...paying off the UAW...but I suppose that’s not really a change...more like an EXchange.

But OK - if the union gets what they want from the Obamination administration it’s up to the people to buy those cars and if they don’t or can’t because of the economy then they go under regardless ....

They certainly didn’t get it that it meant for those dirty hippies to ‘CHANGE’ their stinky draws.

“Change” was merely a clever way of saying “Vote for Me”. Nothing more — but little more was needed givn the mess we’re in.

Republicans after 2001 never gave the electorate a conservative track record and true conservative candidate (except Sarah) to see a defining contrast between radicalism and reasoned, useful conservatism. John McCain was warmed up Christie Todd Whitman poured over Pete Wilson milquetoast with a side of canned Dole. Topped with a glass of vintage Nelson Rockefella 1968.

What’s the difference between “compassionate conservatism” and true big government liberalism, or the difference between RINO and socialist? The speed with which the (R) can outspend and outgrow the (D).

It meant he'd change his mind after he was faced with reality. Example: he changed on Iraq after McCain chided him into visiting Iraq. But his stop-the-war-now followers voted for him anyway.

More change ahead as reality sets in.
