"All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide. "
- Abraham Lincoln, 1838

Celente says that by 2012 America will become an undeveloped nation...

Huh? Is all our plumbing, roads, bridges, etc. going to disappear?

"The first thing to do is organize with tax revolts. That’s going to be the big one because people can’t afford to pay more school tax, property tax, any kind of tax. You’re going to start seeing those kinds of protests start to develop."

Not sure that I buy into the entire article, but I do see this as a possibility.

First and most important question: What things has he predicted that haven’t come to pass? Or do most of them?

"There will be a revolution in this country," he said. "It’s not going to come yet, but it’s going to come down the line and we’re going to see a third party and this was the catalyst for it: the takeover of Washington, D. C., in broad daylight by Wall Street in this bloodless coup. And it will happen as conditions continue to worsen."

The Obama presidency is indeed THE third party. It is the Marxist party that is entering the White House masquerading as the Democratic Party.

Uh, he went from predicting relatively narrow phenom with a clear set of variables to predicting widespread, highly complex phenom with a hideously complex set of variables...I just want to know if everyone will get a Mad Max car?

Perhaps a bit excessively pessimistic, but caution and preparation are in order. The blue cities will be the most dangerous places.

Maybe this guy is right. It would certainly seem he is, but by listing his credentials he sounds like a multi-level marketer.

A number of us have been saying it's time throw the tea into the harbor. I've about reached that point myself. "No taxation without representation!" Our representatives knew that we overwhelmingly DID NOT support the bailout. Yet they handed over 700 billion of our dollars regardless. We elected "representatives" NOT "babysitters" trying to save us from our selves. Withholding *federal* tax dollars sounds like a good idea -- as they have proven THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED with them. I would, however, advocate a continued funding of the state government.

Well, the population is too fat to begin with, so if we all cut back to one meal a day, it shouldn’t be too bad. And who really needs heat or electricity? We got along for thousands of years without it.

:-)

Tent cities are already sprouting up around the country and we’re going to see many more.

So he's advising us to invest in manufacturers of tents and outdoor recreational equipment?
