This is interesting. Souter tells Obama to produce the vault copy by December 1, 2008. I believe the messiah will defy the Justices.

Who will force the issue? Who wants to open up that pandora's box?  Imagine if there is something on that birth certificate that  disqualifies Obama from the office of the President.  What are you going to do? Start a civil war? There will be blood in the streets you try to enforce the rule of law. This should have happened before the election. Obambi knows it too.

At this point, Supreme Court Justice David Souter's Clerk informed Philip J. Berg, the lawyer who brought the case against Obama, that his petition for an injunction to stay the November 4th election was denied, but the Clerk also required the defendants to respond to the Writ of Certiorari (which requires the concurrence of four Justices) by December 1. At that time, Mr. Obama must present to the Court an authentic birth certificate, after which Mr. Berg will respond.

If Obama fails to do that, it is sure to inspire the skepticism of the Justices, who are unaccustomed to being defied. They will have to decide what to do about a president-elect who refuses to prove his natural-born citizenship.

"I can see a unanimous Court (en banc) decertifying the election if Obama refuses to produce his birth certificate," says Raymond S. Kraft, an attorney and writer. "They cannot do otherwise without abandoning all credibility as guardians of the Constitution. Even the most liberal justices, however loathe they may to do this, still consider themselves guardians of the Constitution. The Court is very jealous of its power - even over presidents, even over presidents-elect."

Also remember that on December 13, the Electoral College meets to casts its votes. If it has been determined that Mr. Obama is an illegal alien and therefore ineligible to become President of the United States, the Electors will be duty-bound to honor the Constitution.

No this has been going on since the spring. Berg is a democrat who was trying to get Hillary elected, when he came across this information. Ed Hale, a Texan DJ I think, figure in too in obtaining the African birth certificate. They know the hospital and town, and apparently have multiple certified documents as well as three affidavits from people who say they were present at his birth (Not the Wisemen).

Lawsuits have been filed in WA, Ca, Fl, Ga, Pa, Ny, Cn, Ut, and four or five more states. Davis has filed a freedom of information act in HI. One of the also ran VP candidates has also filed suit.

Thanks to the MSM, nobody knows about it.

You raise an excellent point but unfortunately we have far too many people in this country that think we as a nation are "beyond" violence and bloodshed. They believe the notion of a physical, bloody, brother-against-brother war is "passe" and "so 19th century." We're "enlightened" nowadays dontcha know? What with Starfleet and all...

I was thinking about how you would forge 46-year old paper and a manual typewriter using Word, Illustrator and Photoshop. I guess if there were archival samples of the paper and an old typewriter somewhere, that would handle carbon-dating - because if such a document is produced, that should be done.

My reading of the story was that the AP was quoting the judge. The records are sealed against the press everywhere all time as far as I know but they are not sealed from a Court order.

Am I wrong to believe the court saw something purporting to be a document sufficent to settle the issue?

I rarely believe anything from this media and AP is one of the worst.

I know you are a newbie, so let me enlighten you a little.. There are two types of FReepers, Knee Jerkers and Skeptics. I am the latter.. I am not scared of the truth, but I don’t blindly follow every rabbit down every hole.. here, we take everything apart, looking for holes in the story so we aren’t scammed or so we can prepare for counter arguments.. Many other sites fell for the whole API scam, we didn’t.

Frankly, I think there is something to this story, primarily because of what his grandmother said.

This issue has divided our country and will continue to do so until it is resolved. We are many voices that in the end will be heard, no matter the resistance the truth will come out.

The American citizens are arming themselves with guns, out of fear and uncertanty....its time to resolve this...now!

Difficult to forge because of the sequential numbers used in HI.

Also a Birth certificat in HI can be a product of either a Certificate of live birth, filled out by Dr or midwife at hospital etc. OR a Registry of Birth. A registry of birth can be filled out by the parent and the birth may take place out of the USA.

Hale says they have inside sources that say the original is a Registry of Birth.

DOes anyone have Hale’s orginal link? Have misplaced mine.

Thanks to the brilliance of our Constitution, it doesn't matter if nobody knows.

So long as suits challenging eligibility are filed, and so long as the Chief Justice one way or another decides that eligibility must be proven else the candidate doesn't get sworn in, things will work out.

Until now, standing was a tricky issue to establish: being a candidate was a state issue, and the feds could not take legal notice of the concerns. Now that Congress will actually review the results of the election and formally declare a winner, standing may be established as there is actually something for the courts to take notice of. Allegations are not enough; the federal government must be on the cusp of actually declaring a particular candidate the winner and successor.

Additionally, it need not be a big media event, nor involve a great many people. At the moment, the issue really only involves Obama and the current Congress; come January 20, it truly comes down to the President-elect and the Chief Justice. We just need to make sure the Chief Justice understands his position and confirms the POTUS-elect is in fact eligible; if he is properly convinced, no further issue ... if not, well then things get interesting.

Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution states

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

Therefore this leads us to wonder if Obama qualifies as a natural born citizen. According to the 14th Amendment “All persons born or naturalized in the US...are citizens of the US.” Therefore if Obama was born in the USA then this whole lawsuit has no standing and there is nothing to prevent him from holding office.

However if Obama was born overseas there may be some legal standing to this case. Case and being the Naturalization Act of 1790 states that “...the children of citizens of the US that may be born beyond the sea, or out of limits of the US, shall be considered as natural born citizens.” This was signed into law by George Washington and this is where the lawsuit may have legal standing.

So if Obama was born outside the US (ie Kenya) then we have something. “Children of citizenS (plural - meaning both parents are citizens).” I am fairly certain that Obama’s mother was/is a US citizen at the time of his birth, thereby granting him citizenship statues, however, not necessarily natural-born status if his father was not a citizen at the time of his birth. My understanding of the law (and I could not find a newer version of any law dealing with natural born status) is that for children born overseas both parents MUST be US citizens at the time of birth for the child to qualify as natural born.

Just thought I would share some of my knowledge about citizenship status with you all.
