I’m all for Newt taking over the RNC but I also want some fresh CONSERVATIVE faces in the Senate and House Minority leadership. If they were a coach and they had their losing record they would have been fired long ago. It’s time to clean out the RINO’s!
this would be going in the right direction, if not him, someone like him or even better a female version of him.

You need to drop the Sarah Palin as founding father myth. She is badly maligned for her role in the campaign, but she is not the person who is going to figure out the direction for the Republican Party. Newt is about the only guy who is actually offering ideas to solve problems.
The problem the Republicans have are not because of Newt but despite him. They were all for the Gingrich revolution until they got power. Then they were merely interested in more pork for their districts.
When no one is offering solutions to problems, identity politics is all there is. But identity politics are not going to solve the business cycle burst credit bubble depression we are now experiencing. Identity politics are not going to figure out what how A-stan will end. Idenity politics is not going to solve Israel striking Iran's nuclear sites because idiots like you think it is all about identity politics. Pretty soon real problems are going to be screaming for real solutions.

But he has identified problems, has offered up solutions and asks that folks enter the debate and figure it out. No one else is showing up for the debate. Idiots like you run away screaming.

I don't know what branch of conservatism you come from, but the problem is, no one f'in cares about your ideology. What they care about is how you are going to solve problems. You don't know. You are concerned about the age and color of the messenger and whether that metrosexual is fit to walk runways.
We have two guys who argued, "I didn't even think we should be in Iraq" vs "I have the experience to get us out." Neither offered an actual solution to this or anything else. Credit crunch. One took a time out. The other didn't. Who gives a flying. Neither said how we were going to solve it.

This would be awesome - if it’s Newt or Michael Steele the first priorty is to educate the public on conservatism...
Then identify the RINO’s and support the candidates who advocate conservatism and boot the RINO’s out in the 2010 and 2012 primaries!
I agree. Once one is educated on what conservatism REALLY is, they don’t usually go back.

I know, it's only one little thing. Just as Brunner in Ohio is one little thing. And Eddie Rendell and fraud in Pennsylvania is one little thing. And the theft of the MN Senate by Franken is one little thing.
Add up five or six or a dozen little things, and you have a catastrophe.

IMHO Newt is damaged goods. Also he folded at the wrong time. I have concerns about his long term goals. Does anybody here remember him on the park bench with Sharpton just a few months ago? No, of course not.
