Where was the Obama Landslide? Interesting...

Where was Obama's landslide? There is no doubt, the electoral votes went heavily in his favor, but he only won by about 7 million votes. There were still 56.5 million people that want nothing to do with his socialist agenda. Not only that, but his 7 million more votes cost him over 600 million dollars. A commanding win, sure, a landslide, hardly. It really doesn't say much to his credit, when he had to spend far, far more than anyone in history, and he still only one by this slim margin.

Another interesting note, the media continually said this would be a massive turnout for Obama, and we would see poll numbers like never before. Well, if that's the case, then why did George W. Bush, in 2004, when he was supposedly hated by all, garner 62,040,610 votes? Obama only had 64,030,409 votes... Where was the gigantic influx of new voters?

Consider this, in 2004 121,069,054 people voted. In this election, where massive waves of people were supposed to turn out and vote for the messiah Obama, 120,525,211 people voted. Do you know why? Because many people were less than enthused for either candidate. True conservatives had no one on the ballot for them, save Sarah Palin, but she was the VP, not our candidate. True Regan Republicans and Democrats saw two evils on the ballot, and didn't see it worth their time to vote for the lesser of two evils. This was a big win for the democrats to be sure, but it was not a landslide. Conservatism is not dead, it is as strong as ever, it was simply unrepresented. But in 2012, if we have someone to truly rally behind, things will be much, much different.

“... But in 2012, if we have someone to truly rally behind, things will be much, much different...”

Don’t forget 2010 — conservative voices can take back the House and the Senate in these ultra important elections. Now is the time to start working on the grass roots “landslide” that can send a mandate message to the Obama White House.

Not only that, but his 7 million more votes cost him over 600 million dollars.

Don't worry. It will cost America trillions.

That’s a great point. We need to take some seats back, so we are better able to fight Obama’s policies.

The sad fact is that with a Liberal Congress, a Radical/Marxist President and a MSM bought and paid for by the DNC... fully half of the people in this country have NO voice in their government... and won't have for 4 years.

I turned off the TV on Tuesday night. I won't have it on for another 4 years either.

If you lose by a vote or by 1 million votes, you still lost. Time to purge the party and get back to a conservative game plan............

The pro-Dem ethnic monolith is a huge problem for the GOP.

Blacks, who comprised 13% of the electorate, voted 95% for BHO and gave him a margin of about 14 million votes.

Hispanics, who comprised 9% of the electorate, voted 2/3 for BHO and gave him a margin of about 3.5 million votes.

Total BHO ethnic monolith margin produced by less than 1/4 of the electorate: nearly 18 million votes.

BHO's total margin: 7 to 8 million votes.

If blacks voted 75% Dem, still a strong preference but not monolithic, the vote totals become 61M Dem vs 60M GOP.

What, racism?

What the heck can the GOP do about this?

A 1 vote victory by a liberal is a Landslide and a Mandate. Doesn’t everybody know that?

I hate to ruin a good argument with the facts, but...

National Voter Turnout

2008 148,218,161 64.1%

2004 122,294,978 55.3%

Obama won less than 20% of counties in almost every state!

Some landslide.

True. Obama won by winning the cities. Republicans need to focus on suburban and urban voters while not loosing the rural areas.

The numbers for 2008 are estimates. The numbers quoted by Yahoo! and Fox News and others do not yet include all absentee ballots.

The final tally won’t be known for a bit yet, but the national voter turnout is expected to be about 62%.

I’m still gonna have to give you a big fat, who the freak cares. As the final returns come in, it could pass the total; but either way this is not some super mandate for Barack Obama.

I'll grant you that. With the climate in this election, with an unpopular war, and unpopular incumbent, and an unpopular Republican candidate (until he named Sarah, anyway,) and an almost billion dollar warchest, Zero should have walked away with a Reaganesque landslide, but didn't.

Looking deeper into election turnout reports, liberal states were setting new turnout records, while conservative states were strangely (or not so strangely) below normal, or at least below 2004 levels.

Mandate? Hell no, not from me anyway.
