Heres what Barack Obama and John McCain said the other night and what The Stiletto was muttering under her breath.
Barack Obama: If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible tonight is your answer.
The Stiletto: Yes indeed. Anyone can grow up to be president, whether he is qualified or not.
Obama: It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled.
The Stiletto: And the dead, and foreign nationals and even Mickey Mouse.

The biggest misnomer of this election, of all elections, is that voters make their decision based on a candidate’s policy on taxes, voting history, etc.....
...when in reality most people vote based on likability and personality.
No one wants to admit that, but it is the truth none the less.
Obama is nothing more than a well dressed street thug...
You don't like to hear that???...It's called Obama bashing...guess which party I learned the "How to" of "bashing"...
Obama: If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible tonight is your answer.
Does that mean the non-stop f’n whining is over with?
Does that mean that (what...?) 4+ decades of BS affirmative action legislation can finally be encased in lead and dropped to the bottom of the Marianas Trench-where it belongs?
Does that mean that an entire class of people will automatically stop thinking of themselves as exploited, underprivileged, downtrodden, etc.?
Does that mean that this same class of people will automatically develop the political resourcefulness, will and individualism necessary to fully actualize their rights as ‘AMERICANS’ instead of continuing their political/social existence as hopeless wards of the state and pawns of DNC candidates who have turned this country into one giant Petri dish for loudmouth losers who make unreasonable and ungrateful demands on the numeric majority??????
Does that mean that people who are Polish, Italian, German, Greek, etc. will be equally PERMITTED to regard themselves as having a valid cultural identity of their own?
Does that mean that US domestic politics will NO LONGER be held hostage to impossibly jejune social utopianism???
You tell ME where to stop!
A well-dressed street thug groomed by the NOI, Commies such as Ayres, and racist maniacs the likes of Jeremiah Wright.
Yes, you’re right.
I should have qualified my statement with “most non-white voters” instead of ‘most voters.’
Blacks are seemingly obsessed with injecting race into many things, not just politics.
It ticks me off. But like most others, I am so used to black voters doing that I hardly even notice or complain anymore.
What’s the use complaining.
I’m not sure what it will take for blacks to collectively stop being obsessed with supporting the “black” point of view.
Perhaps it is not even possible..... collectively, that is. (an individual can do anything but there is something about being part of a group that brings out groupthink)
What Liberals don’t like admitting is that human beings are by nature individuals. Humans don’t run in packs, flocks or herds like wild animals so are not so easily ruled or governed.
On the one hand this is great... its the real crowning feature of all humanity... Every man/woman is his own person possessing all the limitless and truly dazzling distinctions that have guaranteed mans full and everlasting departure from the rest of zoology. Individuality must always be cultivated and protected.
On the other hand, it is an impediment to all tyrants and demagogues who shake in their shoes at the possibility that at any time or in any place a single individual may stand up and ask a question or demand an alternative.
Liberal leaders dont recognize or encourage the expression of individuality because forcing the lie of the exploited/disadvantaged/alienated masses on their constituents gets and keeps them in power.
Why do you think Liberals so hate the idea of a national WOT (or any war of national defense for that matter)???? Do you honestly think they have a more highly developed sense of humanitarian indignation about killing and death than anyone else? NOT. Instead, Liberals just really hate to see of the kind of social and class collaboration which humans display when defending themselves. It undercuts all their hard work in educating one group of people to see themselves as a class apart-exploited, underprivileged, alienated and excluded.
Also, I should further qualify my point by saying that most ‘independant’ voters seemingly vote for personality and likability.
After all, adamant Republicans always vote Republican just as adamant Democrats always vote Democrat.
The congressional race here in Bucks County, Pennsylvania is a perfect example.
The Democrat incumbent, Patrick Murphy, an Iraqi veteran (US Army Capt) and liberal, was challenged by conservative Republican Tom Manion, a retired 30-year US Marine Col. who is a successful businessman and longtime local resident.
Here’s the rub.
Manion’s 22-year old son Travis was killed in Baghdad in 2007, which prompted him to run against incumbent Murphy, who had been insulting the military by claiming they were on a “losing mission” “couldn’t win” ..... were terrorizing Iraqi citizens..... “Bush is a moron...” yadda yadda.
Manion, by all accounts, should have gotten national support and money due to the sympathy factor if nothing else, never mind that he was a US Marine.
Democrat Murphy, who supported Obama bigtime, was supported by MoveOn nutjobs, KosKooks, the gay lobby, the abortion lobby, and every other liberal agenda. (Obama got crushed by Hillary 65-35% in the Penna. primaries.
Here’s my point:
Murphy the Democrat is a very likable guy, smiling, shaking hands always. Attends every local event, charity races, boy scouts, etc.
Manion the Republican was a dull boring personality... he rarely smiled. He hardly ever walked up to strangers, or anyone, to offer a handshake or encouraging word.
Also, 75% of Manion’s campaign speeches touched on his KIA son Travis. Yes, Manion is proud of his son... but he apparantly sought sympathy support.
But person to person, Manion just was not likable.
In the end, Manion was unable to raise enough cash either locally or nationally to properly campaign. The RNC wouldn’t give much money, nor would the normal money people.
On Nov. 4, Manion got defeated soundly 57% to 42% — even though this county is split 50-50 in Democrat-Republican voter registration.
Even my conservative friends admitted to liking Murphy’s personality better.
That’s my point. Personality has a BIG BIG part in whether someone wins or loses.
When all is said and done more is said than what is done.
That’s it.
When you have no information or conviction - emotion is everything for you. Sort of how a drunk, a child or mental defective makes decisions... (what I want... what I feel-forget everything else and consider only the immediate, personal and temporary)
“Where there is NO substance, there is emotion”
The Republicans can and should have both substance and personality.
That's my point, actually. We have got to start developing conservative candidates with some personality and pizazz. (think Reagan)
McCain, God Love him, simply was a boring as heck candidate, with an ugly smile, yellow teeth, puffed out jowels (sorry John if you're out there lurking)...
People subconsciously WANT their president to have vitality and to project strength.
It's not good enough to have a solid voting record and "experience"....
Call it shallow. Call it whatever ....
But these things play a huge role in attracting support from some soccer mom or dad from Ohio or some 32-year-old single female who wants her President to look..... Presidential.
I don't mind admitting that one of the reasons I supported Romney was the fact that he could express our conservative principals MUCH better than the other candidates ... PLUS HE LOOKED DAMN GOOD standing on stage with his lovely family.
People can scoff if they want, but 10-20% of Obama's votes came from people who saw him as a young virile leader.... and McCain as a frumpy, nasal-speaking old geezer who was only a small cut above GWB in speaking ability.
Love ya McCain... but them is the facts)
