I was picking up some field stone and found a very strange rock that could be an egg. It was broken open and there is something inside. I do not know how to put a picture on FR.
I need the services of a Geologist. Is there one here?
No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express
I am a geology student, is the inside purple and crystal like?
You’re up.
You may have found a geode.
Is it a creamy center or a chewy center. I’m betting on an old Cadbury Egg.
Gotta photo of it?
LOL!
Or it might be a “Thunderegg”

Create an account with Photobucket.com. Upload the picture to photobucket.
Click on the link underneath the uploaded picture to copy the HTML code into a post.
Or like this?
If the first it is a geode and a nice if not very rare find.
If the second then be advised that keeping him in the tub is a bad idea.
Am downloading photos now. They did not come out as good as hoped. Where can I learn how to put a picture on FR??
This is not creamy in the center. It looks like a shell?? in the center, but all the rock is layered around it.
If you want to send me a regular email address, I know how to send it to that.
BA
No. I’ll try that photobucket idea.
I’ll go ahead and offer my husband’s services, but he won’t be back home until the weekend.
If you can email the photo, I’ll freepmail his address.
You have FREEPMail.
That sounds like a chalcedony or moganite geode (white or grey are very common).
“Is anyone here a marine biologist?” (sorry. couldn’t resist)
Probably. I'm amazed at the diversity of FR.

Uh....
It was broken open and there is something inside.
"Something"? What are we talking about?
Did it look like a crystal inside? Did it look like dried, yellow/white egg-like stuff?
Describe what the "inside" looked like! :)
Hopefully, this doesn't turn into an Art Bell saga....
I do not know how to put a picture on FR.
1. Take the pictures.
2. Get the pictures on your computer.
3. Upload them to a free photo site. I use TinyPic.com for a lot of stuff.
4. Whatever photo site you use, you'll be given an address for each picture you upload. Keep it/them handy, because you'll need it/them.
5. To post an image, you'll need to use a little html. To post an image, use this code: <img src="ADDRESS">
So, let's say you wanted to post the following picture.
You would use this code:
<img src="http://i19.tinypic.com/10wji1s.jpg">
Just replace ADDRESS with the address (URL) of the image you want to post. :)
