I just think our Nation is being blessed with a learning opportunity .

There are many similar passages. So, yes, The Affirmative Action President was inflicted on us by God. I'm not sure why that is relevant. Governor Sarah Palin was also sent to us, but as a gift from God. We were given a choice slavery or freedom, evil or good, with the free will to choose, and now we will all have to live with the choice that the deadbeats among us made.

Absolutely right. Proverbs 16:4 says “The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.” Revelation 17:17 says “For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.” Now, even though Obama is NOT the beast mentioned here it does show that God will give kingdoms to those whom He chooses for His specific purposes.
Also remember that Paul warned us there would be a great falling away from the faith and righteousness before the Man of Perdition is revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Things will only get worse for the world, but the born again believer in Christ’s future has never been better.

I suspect we are being tested, ... “learning”, “tested”, maybe there’s a connection.

Nebu is an interesting study of a man in the way God deals with him. Israel had already been declining in power and Nebu just finishes the job. Yet he becomes a great supporter of Shadrach, Meschach and Abednigo, especially when God saves them from the fiery furnace. Daniel interprets the king’s dreams and Nebu sets him up as a chief amongst his wise men. God punishes Nebu with madness for 7 years as he had not given God credit and allowed himself to be compared as a God. When Nebu finally repents and “looks up towards heaven” God restores his sanity, family and power. Nebu then issues a proclamation ackowledging God as above all other gods.
In short while Nebu did some evil things, God saw Nebu’s heart and saw there was quality material to work with. We will see Nebu in heaven no doubt. I read the stories about Nebu in Daniel...God showed real grace towards him, even sharing with him a vision of the far future...when the great stone falls from heaven destroying all kingdoms (as symbolized by the statue) and grows into a great mountain that fills the whole Earth.
