No, you sound like a defeatest du plant if you ask me. You don't contemplate defeat in the middle of the battle.
There will be plenty of time to arm chair quarterback this thing on the 5th, till then....STFU

You are basically correct, McCain had no real chance except with Palin and she wasn't properly prepared (her well prepared debate peformance was what she should have done from the beginning).
But you should consider a couple of factors: conservative democrats who deserve our support to hold off the worst of the Obama legislation, and 2010, not 2012.

It is very clear that the ONLY reason you posted this at this time is to try to undermine McCain, Get real. Freepers will vote 97 to 3 for McCain and Ron Paul and are not the least bit of a factor in this election.

Obama's international Marxist handlers have the experience on how to change free governments into totalitarian governments. The first thing they have to do is marginalize the opposition by making them appear deranged and unhinged. You are playing right into their hands.

That's why it is important to discourage such discouraging posts at such a crucial time as this. Don't be silly. Realism and determination to win are not mutually exclusive. It is likely that we will lose (at least here in VA) but that is not going to stop me or anyone else from voting. I just sent a last minute donation to Gilmore who is certainly going to lose. But let's at least be realistic, we have the media, ACORN, and a million brainwashed and angry voters (again my observations here in VA) against us.

I’m not so sure that this so-called realism will not stop some people from going to the polls. Yes a large majority will go out and vote regardless, but even if only a small minority succumb to the spin that could be enough to put Obama over the top in some of the battleground states.
Yesterday, in fact, a FReeper wrote that his conservative friend at work said something to the effect of “why should i bother voting? Obama’s got it in the bag!”
But hopefully a lot of Obama supporters are thinking the same way.

I believe in H.L. Mencken. Nobody ever lost any money betting against the intelligence of the American public. If McCain wins, then a lot of sham donors, including those overseas, *will* have lost money betting against the intelligence of the American public.
Cheers!

Unfortunately, McCain happens to have exhibited some of the same bad judgment in choosing his friends as Obama did in choosing his. (Charles Keating, anyone?) No, because the PROSECUTOR in the Keating case said McCain didn't do anything wrong.
McCain was included to give a fig leaf for the Democrats who *were* guilty.
Nice try, though.
Cheers!

Your reply continues to prove my point that your argument is stupid, ignorant, ill-timed, inflammatory, absurd on its face, laughable and a servant of evil.
And I’ll add: naive, supercilious, and sophomoric.

Not only proving my point about some Freepers lacking absolutely any perspective at all in their ability to affect outcomes (you think the world revolves around what’s posted here???), but trying to squelch free speech simply because you don’t like the message.
Nice.
BTW, I voted straight Republican ticket, because there are some true conservatives worth keeping in office.
