In this post from yesterday, we called Virginia for McCain after the Mason-Dixon poll showed Virginia as a toss-up, with Obama leading 47-44, and a 4 point margin of error. The call was based on the fact that the percentage of undecideds are historically high and indications are they will break heavily for McCain.
We found a little more information to support this theory.

VA will go McCain.. We must vote...vote..vote!!!
Actually, many of the PUMAs are telling the pollsters they're voting for Obama when, in fact, they plan on voting McCain.

Wonder why... are they doing this out of spite :-)
I just can’t believe in PUMAs.
If they do exist it will show up in the first vote returns as a lower % of returns for Obama than party ID would predict.
If we don’t see that early then they don’t exist.
If we do see that then I’m wrong- but celebrating.
PUMAs are real, and they are numerous. I spoke with many of them over the weekend while canvassing western Virginia (Roanoke). These western Virginians, PUMAs and republicans alike, will carry the Old Dominion. Interesting thing about them, none of them vote early, don’t know why maybe they just like the tradition of going to the polling place on election day, or maybe they don’t trust the early/absentee voting process. Either way, VA goes republican, no doubt in my mind.
Sorry, I just can't buy that. Sounds like those are Dems who just won't vote. Which would still show in early returns.
Of course, some Dems of all types are dissatisfied with Obama. He's a choice that is far left of even a Dem's 'ideal' candidate. I'm looking for an indication of significance. Abd it will show early.
Many of the PUMAs are voting early and only voting for one Republican, they aren’t changing their party registration for this election.
