Howdy Everybody. I wrote Attorney General McKennas office (Washington State) this week and got back a reply. Basically I was voicing my concern of possible voter fraud that Ive been hearing about on the news, and how its affected past elections and this one. Heres a response from his office:
Mr. Billeaudeau:
I am responding on behalf of Attorney General McKenna to your message, which is copied below. You write about the coming general election, and mention in particular concerns about voter registration drives conducted by ACORN.
In Washington, a criminal investigation was conducted in connection with the 2006 election, which led to the prosecution and conviction of a number of people involved with ACORN voter registration drives. It also resulted in a written agreement, signed by ACORN, the King County Prosecutors Office, and the Secretary of State, governing future voter registration activities in Washington by ACORN. It is my understanding that this year ACORN registered voters only in King and Pierce counties, and the elections offices in those counties report that ACORN submitted only a relatively small number of applications, which the counties described as clean. In the past, invalid applications from ACORN were easy to spot, which was how we learned of the incidents that led to criminal prosecutions. The Seattle Times published an article on the subject yesterday, if you are interested in reading further.
With regard to the 2004 election, many changes have been made to election administration since then. At the end of the election contest trial, the judge ruled that there had been no evidence presented of any fraud in conducting the election, in the sense of anybody attempting to manipulate the result, but that a number of votes were case illegally (primarily by voters who were not properly qualified to vote). The Secretary of State and county auditors have taken a number of actions since then to improve procedures and to remove invalid or duplicate names from the voter registration rolls. If you would like further information on that subject, you may want to contact the Secretary of State.
I trust that this information will be helpful.

Awww... I’m sure they take their job seriously We’re still America ya know! :)
I know. Just kidding. Washington has a well respected government.
Hopefully we’ll have a more respected one after this election! :) God Bless you and yours! :)
until we get some men with heart there will be no cleanup....the two people that are Republicans in this state that could have done something have been mere shadows....the Attorney General Rob McKenna and the SOS Sam Reed.....
now, I will vote for both of them, because it is at least a small presence, but I won't be happy about....its not like I believe in them to do their duty....
Great work!
I am proud to say that I have family and friends that live in Washington that I met with this past week and they have always voted Democratic and they will be voting for Mccain this time.
I hope that trend continues here!
