Were utterly fascinated by this.
In 2004, we dont remember hearing about anyone scared Kerry was going to take their guns away - and we worked Pennsylvania for Kerry (Pittsburgh area). There were a lot of gun shops and firing ranges there, and we never heard anything about people stocking up on guns because they were scared Kerry was going to try to take them away.
Obama is perceived as more liberal than Kerry, and in fact the most liberal Democrat thats run for president in as long as anyone can remember. Biden as VP makes this the most liberal ticket that Democrats have ever fielded. There is nothing about it that puts the bitter, gun-and-relgion-people-who-are-apathetic-to-those-not-like-them living in Pennsylvania at ease.
Absolutely nothing.
In fact, the thought of Obama becoming president freaks these people out. So much so that theyre stocking up on firearms.
We just dont see how this can bode well for Obama. These are Reagan Democrats and Republicans. Theyre Clinton Democrats too. And they recoil at the thought of an Obama administration.
Have you ever heard of anything like this? We checked, and cant see any evidence of this in past elections where the Democrat so freaked rural, working class, sportsman types out that they felt compelled to stock up on weapons to protect themselves.
We think this is a piece of a larger puzzle one thats becoming much more clear as we inch closer to November 4th:
(1) Democrats like us at HillBuzz are working with Republicans for the first time in our lives to elect John McCain/Sarah Palin because we do not like or trust Obama/Biden.
(2) Hillary Democrats not openly working for McCain are silently voting for him and voting Republican for the first time in their lives in most cases.
(3) Early voting has not met Obamas expectations Republicans are tied or ahead in most states, and nowhere is Obama enjoying blowout advantages he claimed hed have.
(4) In all states, there is a marked enthusiasm gap between support for Obama and support remembered for Kerry in 2004 or Gore in 2000 lack of yard signs, stickers, posters, and excitement to vote for Obama, despite what the media claims.
(5) Gun owners afraid of Obama, and stocking up on weapons because they are that freaked out by the thought of anyone voting for him.
Wed love your thoughts on that last one, as we think it could be a cultural barometer like the Family Circle cookie baking contest or Halloween mask sales something that shows a large scale cultural like or dislike of a candidate.
All of these anecdotal signs point to a McCain win with those gun sales being the most fascinating of all.
Because those gun owners are the heart of the country. If Obama hasnt won them over, and instead seems to have driven them away, screaming, then we just dont see how he wins.
Some food for thought...
1) Congress is contemplating a $300B spending bill as an economic stimulus package. Charlie Rangle had one republican at the hearing who wants lower taxes and smaller government. Everyone treated him like he was first prize at a turkey shoot, ripping his backside up one side an down the other. They want to spend that money on municipal construction projects to get the economy moving, like in the Great Society. That’s great if we still lived in the economy of the 50s and/or you’re a construction worker with no job. Everyone else who is living in the information age and is unemployed, which is probably the greater portion, can just go take a hike.
2) I found a blurb about how Obama wants to take part of that $700B Paulson abomination and use it to take over failed mortgages, turn those houses into HUD section-8 and relocate inner city people into them. So, you’re in the information age, lost your job, get kicked out of the house you’ve worked your rear off for until the governemnt’s blunders made it impossible, and Obama’s got some welfare recipient lined up to move in. Nice, huh?
If he gets elected and does half of the things he says he will, there’s going to be stuff coming down. That’s why people are stocking up.
For now.....
There is no honor among thieves.
If he wins, BO and Congress will hit us “early and often” and the shock affect will be hard to counter.People will be too confused to react immediately. Typical commie tactics.
Thank you so much for all this information.
We just can’t have the government purposely destroying people, using that destruction as an excuse to confiscate their property to give to someone who never wanted to work for it, and not have plenty of angry unemployed and homeless white collar dudes. Anyone remember Shay’s Rebellion?

I still have to stock up on ammo. There is certainly a real fear of what 0bama would do as president. Every one seems to have an uneasy feeling about him.
The point of bringing up Shay’s is that kind of hostility toward the citizenry breeds and feeds unrest. If what I think I see happening is part of some grand design, rather than just sheer stupidity, we’re going to be in for turbulent times the likes of which we have not seen since the civil war.
Any if he does win, those guns may come in handy when the Jackbooted storm troopers come to get them.
Let’s see, in the last two weeks I have renewed my NRA membership and sighted in both of my 1903 Springfields. Next week I’m going to Camp Perry/CMP store and probably gonna pick up an M1 Garand.
And about 1000 rounds of 30.06 ammo. For starters.
In one election cycle, the Democrat Party will do to this country what the Soviet Union couldn’t do in fifty years.
Well, I’ve added a Savage Arms 10 in .308 with a big fat target barrel. Too bad I can’t get any range time to sight it in.
Maybe such an event can clean up their political climate.
If no one thought obama would win, no one would be standing in lines at the gunshops.
Unfortunatly, there are those who would vote for obama but buy a gun before the election so they can dump it later when the prices go up.
I have not bought any more guns, ammo is another matter.
Remember, the Clintons went after the primers and the ammo. We have a right to bear arms, nothing says that the government cannot play with how many rounds we own.
I think you hit it correctly.
The libs will not try to take our guns from us. They will do it in a stealth way to make them impotent by tackling the Ammo first. When I lived in California several years ago, they had proposed a tax of a nickel on every shell.
Taxes on ammunition will have the same effect of taking away firearms by making them useless.
The libs will claim they are not violating the second amendment.
Every time I pass a sporting goods store i buy more rounds. We will need to stock up on them.
People will protect themselves, as necessary. The fact that gun sales are increasing shows that folks do not trust the potential Hussein government and expect they will need to defend themselves from domestic enemies of the Constitution.
Just remember, he is not elected yet, folks. You can make a difference on 4 November.

Look into The Frankfurt School for the early planning stages. Their minions brought us consensus-building, sensitivity training, and infiltrated our education system, churches and the Democrat party. This has been an intentionally executed plan, and it's at fruition right now.
