Heck...I dunno.

My first instinct would be to pray for them.

Other than that, I don’t mess with anything like this to know how to counteract it.

I guess that’s why they “deprogram” ex-cult members.

You have a conservative, *independent* mind so it probably would be *much* less effective.

The crowds he’s “reaching” must be more prone to suggestion or possibly just possessed of a herd-like mentality, always looking for “Superman” to come and save them rather than taking care of themselves.

Not that it means much, but during the debate I asked my wife to “Listen to what he is saying, don’t watch him”. Makes all the difference in the world.

God bless you, too.

"I feel so conflicted...I am laughing at your reply but those things are *horrible*....;-D"

They are indeed. Shockingly hideous images, descriptions and thoughts under certain circumstances tend to have that effect on most of us.

On a related topic, from the perspective of people who've written material for public affairs work, the campaigns for this election are loaded with interesting considerations. It's one of the silliest (from my perspective) pre-election periods that I've ever seen. ...very reminiscent of histories of elections and other political efforts of over 100 years ago.

The 0-ccult :)

The only time I try to listen to him is during the debates and for some reason my brain goes elsewhere when he speaks. I have often thought he was trying to send subliminal messges or something. I actually can’t look at him and felt the same weird feeling from that.

Or, then again it could be because he talks in circles and never really answers the questions.

I have said many times his followers are mesmorized and/or just stupid. The rest are radicals and terrorists just chomping at the bit waiting to take over our beautiful country from sea to shining sea. They sang both the National Anthem and God Bless America while waiting for Gov. Palin yesterday and it actually brought tears to my eyes.

We best buy all the flags and patriotic items now in case for some unknown reason he wins. I refuse to believe there are that many stupid/mesmorized idiots out there, but it’s possible.

I've said right along that the "sound of his voice" captures you. That what he says is empty rhetoric. I noticed it the first time I heard him on Opra.

Then there's his backgrounds...like movie sets...in Europe first and then at the convention.

In the last debate, he looked very uncomfortable sitting down...and then there's his "know it all" cockiness.

Spreading the wealth is not what our forefathers had in mind...

“I don’t believe in aliens at all but people *have* used extremely effective mass manipulation techniques on crowds throughout history.”

It’s called the Big Lie, and it’s not hypnosis. Big Lies rise to prominence the same way benign conventions rise to prominence: the more something is repeated, the more acceptable it becomes.

People are open to propaganda because they are creatures of habit, and lazy. They like to solve intellectual problems as quickly as they like to solve physical problems. We want to settle in our minds who this Obama guy is, in order to relieve us of the obligation of settling what he stands for the next time we see his face. Since information about Him is controlled by the MSM, we are likely to associate Obama with “good speaker” and “spellbinding.”

We like the simplest definitions available. Sometimes they’re accurate, often less so.

Fascinating.

Somebody mentioned that they listened to the debate on their car radio and said that McCain, without doubt or equivocation, severely and utterly trounced Zero.

TV ~viewers~ tended to disagree.

That is a lot of reading to comment on it right away. But I think 0bama would use any trick he thought might seduce more suckers to vote for him, and/or to steal votes.

I’ve asked the question on several threads. I am not sure it is so much hypnosis as it is the brainwashing of generations.

See this video:
Former KGB guy explains what is happening right now in this election. I called it brainwashing....it is. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/5376

Funny you’d say that.
Have you seen “Gangs Of New York”?

The “election” insanity [although historically pretty accurate] looked a Monty Python skit.

He makes me literally ill but I am going to try what another poster suggested...listen, but don’t watch.

I have hope that -Americans- will come through on the 4th and save the country.

They have to.

Even my unnaturally canny [to me, any way...LOL] “I can’t be fooled” hubby said;

“You know...if you weren’t aware of what that guy is, you could easily fall for his line. He seems nice, reasonable and likable.”

99.9% of the time, hubby is dead-on about a person’s ‘true self’, right off the bat.

To hear him say that was disturbing.
If *he* could say that, how many more will but not be wise enough to discern the reality of 0?

At the charity dinner he talked about himself as superman and said that his only fault was something like he was too amazing and on and on supposedly as a joke. I felt that he was actually communicating to people in an overt way that what he was saying was the truth about himself and not really a joke. It must have been in his hand signals, body language and form of hypnotic speech. Will have to find a video clip and watch it to see.
