I like Liz Trotta on Fox News. I think she generally has some fairly objective and insightful things to say about the media, so I usually delay heading off to Mass until she wraps her just-before-9 a.m. segment.
Liz definitely is not in the tank for Sarah Palin, and I was disturbed by her final observations about her view of Palin's perceived lack of depth by reporting that "some people" found it distasteful that Palin was bringing "that handicapped child and dragging it around the stage."
It???
Distasteful????
Sad, really, and you have to think that if it was a Democrat, we would be hearing paeans to how this move was designed to bring all of our citizens into the mainstream.
There is something about the babies of Republican women politicians.

Abortion guilt apparently manifests itself as a hatred of all the babies who were born.

Any apology from FNC yet?
No!

I normally watch this segment on Fox but today I missed it. Ever since Sarah Palin was announced as the VP nominee, Liz, whom I always thought was reasonable in most of her views, has been whacking away at Sarah and for no good reason. She sounds like one of those liberal hacks. To say she wonders how appropriate it is to have the infant on stage may be one thing. But to describe is as that handicapped child and then follow up with calling Trig an “it” is so insulting..
It is no different than when the press always has to announce that Michael Reagan is the “ adopted” son of Ronald Reagan..as if that makes him somehow less human in worth. As an adoptee myself I resent that distinction being made...but that is another topic just wanted to draw a comparison.
I like seeing Sarah and her family...all of them together. They are an inspiring group of people and her gentle touch with her children and their respect for her and their dad and willingness to help mom with the baby and the glow of love they have for this sweet child, is heart warming and the democrats just can't stand that. It shows them up for the small, nasty “its” that they are.

celtic gal, I wonder if somewhere along the line she made a decision to abort a child with Downs?
I read somewhere that 80% of the women who are given prenatal test to determine Down's in their child opt for abortion.

I don’t know her history or if she was ever married and had her own family.
I can tell you, as I said earlier, I am an adoptee as are my two brothers..none of us are biological siblinbs. Yet my older brother has a form of autism and I can tell you my other brother and I were treated terribly by classmates and some teachers because of our older brother’s handicap. So I have a special respect and admiration for the Palin family.

you should have heard our parish priest today.
Today is Respect for Life Sunday.
He said he was not about to tell people how to vote, but we all must remember we are a people of life. He also said that it what is it to help the poor when you want to destroy children before they are even born.
One of my FRiends posts his homilies on youtube. When it is posted I will give you a link.
You should have heard him on First Friday two days ago. He said it was scandalous that some woman after the debate said she was ashamed of Sarah Palin because she was pro life. Father said in his view it makes her heroic, that she would be willing to lose the election rather than say no to life.

Better correct that last line I posted.
He said she was heroic because she is willing to lose the election rather than back down on the life issue.

If Palin was a liberal Dem there would be no trig. IMO.
The more Palin and her family get nit picked at IMO just means the better for the job she is.
Had somebody said that in my presense (being a Mom of a quad for 29yrs) I dont think I could be so kind in return.
Like I always say either people get it or they dont.
