OJ Simpson was finally found guilty for something he did; kidnap his own stuff at gunpoint. 13 years to the day the infamous "Not Guilty" verdict was read to a nation on the cliff, he faces 5 years in prison. I agree with this verdict, but something has crossed my mind: did the previous events 13 years ago have any bearing on this case?
Different crimes, same high profile person. Could the jury really be unbiased?
Everyone was talking about him 13 years ago; even my 8 year old self was stuck watching the trial with my grandfather. Did the jury members remember where they were when the verdict was read? Did they have any opinions back in '95?
None of these questions can really be answered. In this world of guilty until proven innocent, of Law & Order, CSI, and various other programs, people aren't brought to trial unless there is substantial evidence. Where does this leave our perception of our legal system? "He/She must have done that because they found DNA?" "He/She lied to the police so he must have done it. No one else was there."
An example: Robert Wagner obviously killed his wife, Natalie Wood, because she was drunk, on a boat, couldn't swim, and this happened after she started flirting with Christopher Walken [who refuses to talk about it to this day].

Yes, there are a lot of suspicious circumstances, but if a lawyer cannot find enough evidence, they get to live a normal life. If he did it, and they can't find enough evidence, the case becomes a legend.
So OJ gets prison time. No one still knows who killed Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman. And something happened in Malibu that casts guilt on two talented actors.
Such is law.

Thoughts on it?
That comment is false. OJ knows for certain, and 5.9 billion people are within reasonable doubt. The rest are known as Obama supporters.
This ruling, as known by NBA referees, is a make-up call.
