Smoke and mirrors. What about his Indonesian citizenship procured by his stepfather?

Just playing devil's advocate here but aren't you considered a US citizen if you are born within the United States?

Or am I missing something with this?

Bingo. Nobama is spinning dual U.S.-Kenyan citizenship to avoid questions about what his stepfather did with him in Indonesia.

As posted elsewhere on FR, there's evidence that The Messiah was enrolled in school by his stepfather as an Indonesian citizen and with his religion being Islam.

It means the Bambi campaign admits that he held dual citizenship for part of his life. Some legal people believe that such individuals are ineligible for the presidency for the same reason that those who are not “natural-born” citizens are ineligible: they have or have had loyalty to a country other than the U.S.

I admit I am a bit dense, so please have patients with me here on this one, but IF Nobama was born in the USA then doesn't it make him a US citizen? Therefore all other arguments are a moot point right?

I must now go shower to wash the filth off of me after having defended this monster......

Although this doesn’t address possible Indonesian citizenship, you’re right in that someone born in the U.S., and subject to its jurisdiction, is a US citizen. Even one born outside the U.S. is, provided: 1) Both parents are US citizens; 2)one parent is a US citizen and resided 10 years in the US, five of which were after the age of 14. John McCain fell under the former, as did Obama, if he was in fact born in the US.

Well, is there a law that states no one can run for President if they have held dual citizenship?

If so then this needs to be brought out NOW!!!

No, it is an interpretation of the Constitution. People who are not natural-born citizens, like Ahnuld, cannot run for president because they have had loyalty to another country by virtue of not being born here.

The thinking is that someone who was born here but holds dual citizenship is no different. But it is not spelled out.

Not necessarily if he took Kenyan citizenship and renouced his US citizenship.

I was born in Canada and naturalized as a US citizen at age 8. I was given the option at age 18 of reclaiming my Canadian citizenship, dual citizenship, or US citizenship. Don't know the circumstances of Obama’s citizenship history but it not real clear is it?

Nope. If Obama by birth was entitled to dual citizen (U.S.-Kenya) because of his parents and his location of birth, that doesn't explain why he's later enrolled in school as an Indonesian citizen. This means he acquired new citizenship and may have renounced his U.S citizenship in the process. Because we do not know the circumstances, and the fact he was a minor at the time, it remains to be seen. However, it is clear that Nobama wants no one investigating his time in Indonesia, how it affects his citizenship status, and whether he is in fact a Muslim. All the focus is on a deceased alcoholic Kenyan polygamist (the biological father) instead of what really happened with his stepfather and mother in Indonesia.

I am also curious about one story that has appeared on this site. Obama traveled to Pakistan at about age 20 on an Indonesian passport. Has that been confirmed?

My niece and nephew have (had) duel citizenship with USA and Canada. When they turned 18, they were asked by the US government to pick which country they want citizenship in as they could not hold both.
My nephew choose Canada and niece choose USA. My niece was told although she could run for any political office she could not be president because of the prior duel citizenship. Now that was about ten years ago, so I can not tell you if laws have changed or been reinterpreted but that is what she was told.
As an off topic, she is in the US Air Force and has just finished her training for Honor Guard. Very exciting for her and the family.

He was born in Hawaii. That still is apart of the US.

There has still been no proof that he was born in the US.

“He was born in Hawaii”

Do you have proof of that?

I believe he staunchly refuses any access to his records while at Columbia because:

It will show that he attended radical terrorist training camps;

It will show he is a muslim;

It will show that he is not an American citizen.

Legally, he is qualified. But the Court of Public Opinion might think differently if this story ever got wider coverage...so it won’t.

Is Obama’s stepfather still alive? He shouldn’t be that old. He could still be around, someplace. What was the oil company that he worked for?
