What's better?
* A McCain win in 2008, and a loss in 2012
* A McCain loss in 2008, and a Republican win in 2012
Obama in 2008 ... No America (as we know it) in 2012
This is known as the Reagan ‘76 theory. It’s amazing to see the similarities.

I’m not following you. What was the Reagan ‘76 theory?
Can this “somebody else” cope with two problems at the same time?
If McCain loses in ‘08; then it would seem Hillary has no chance at the Oval Office. Will she permit this?
The problem with this is that we had to suffer four years of Jimmy Carter to get Reagan in '80. We're still trying to deal with the damage Carter did. The whole Jihadi movement is a consequence of bad Carter policies. I would have much preferred Ford in '76 followed by two terms of Bob Dole over what happened historically.
What’s better?
A McCain win in 2008, and a Palin win in 2012.
Completely correct. We will likely not even recognize this country by 2012 if that Alfred E. Neuman lookalike gets in office and his commie advisors accelerate their continuous undermining of this country.
I’m voting this way.
McCain Win in 2008, GOP win in 2012. All Democraps deported to China where they can live in the Commie paradise of their dreams.
IT’S WIN FREAKIN WIN BABY!!!!
How about this alternative?: a McCain win in 2008 and a Palin win in 2012?
Just a thought.
McCain 2008.
Palin 2012.
If Obama is elected he will wreck this country’s economy faster than some Hollywood meth-brat driving Daddy’s Ferrari on Sunset Blvd on a Friday Night. He will send this country’s economy over the cliff. Then add in all his radical Marxist agenda, and you can kiss America (in any recognizable form you might remember) good-bye.
This is a tough one. The next 4 years are going to be bumpy, even if we head in the right direction.
Even if McCain/Palin steer the country in the right direction (and given McCain’s instincts, I doubt he will do the right thing 100% of the time ... he does the right thing 75% of the time, and the other 25% he can be *spectacularly* wrong) ... they will get no credit for it.
Look at 9/11 — Worst attack on our civilian sector (especially worst terrorist attack on our financial sector), country kept chugging along.
All Democrats could say in 2004 was: Worst Economy in 60 years! And the MSM trumpets it.
No one remembered that the Dot-Com bubble burst and the 9/11 attacks, plus the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were a hell of a triple whammy on our economy. And yet, there were no bread lines. Instead of pointing out that we climbed a steep obstacle and made it over, we were looking at Great Depression 2.
So, if McCain and Palin will get pinned on what may actually BE Great Depression 2.0 — then if Republicans win the WH this go around, we will be doomed for the next 8-12 years assuming they run someone who CAN win next time like Hillary. Heck, they may even run Obama — with “Ready for Change this time America?” as his dusted off slogan. Scary.
Alternatively, you let Obama/Reid/Pelosi fumble (and destroy what’s left of our economy) and end up with a rout in 2012 by taking back all Houses of Congress and the WH with true conservatives.
Maybe even Palin could run as President. She’d have plenty of time to build her presence in the next 4 years. Run with someone like Jindal (who hopefully will have a compelling case as another Reformer in LA) .. and you could very well have the strongest Republican ticket that ever was.
It’s an interesting dilemma. All I know is that Obama would certainly lead to financial ruin for many of us. Especially with Pelosi/Reid in control of Congress with an increased Dem majority coming our way.
Scary times.
We need a McPain win in 2008 and a DIFFERENT Republican win in 2012. If Obama gets in now, we will be closer to becoming a third world nation. In 2012 we need the Governor of Louisnana, Bobby Jindal to run for President. Jindal is SHARP. He will go somewhere in the GOP. Forget Sarah Palin. She is useful now but she is not as sharp as Jindal. Let Sarah Palin run again as VP with Jindal for those that see gender as a tool. This time McCain needed her for that reason - plus she has some accomplishments and people can relate to her. In 2012 we will need someone stronger like Jindal.
McCain in 2008 and Palin in 2012.
There is no guarantee that a McCain loss this year would give us the White House in 2012- a lot of things can happen between now and then and it would be stupid to bet on that. A McCain win in 08, however, does greatly increase the chance of a Palin run in 2012.
